From Madrid to Sarria

Hello everyone.

As I've told, I'm walking with my dad next march and I want to buy our tickets this weekend (they are on sale!).

I guess I'll be arriving in Madrid 13:15 on march 16th.

What would you say the best way to go to Sarria is?

1 - Fly to SDC and from there get a taxi to Sarria.
2 - Get a train to Sarria.
3 - Try a bus to Sarria.

Please help me! I need to buy the tickets. jejeje

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Six hours on the train, I understand it is a 11+ hour bus ride.

Hi there,

I just asked this question to someone at the Church on Thursday. Fly to SDC, and train to Sarria.

Buen Camino,

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Thanks everyone. I'll take a train to Sarria and a flight from SDC to Madrid.

I hope to do the same, but have questions after looking at the Renfe website. They are not showing any trains going from Madrid to Sarria after about the middle of January. Other routes are available 60 days out.

Either the Madrid to Sarria route will no longer be available, or they make those tickets available later?

When we were booking our travels for May 2015, RENFE was not posting the train schedule more then a month in advance of our travel date. Be patient with them. We booked with LOCO2 and as soon as the schedule was available for our travel date they let us know. Buen camino

Most likely, they'll be available later. Be patient!

I'm pretty sure the reason why you don't see trains for that route later than early/mid January is the opening of the high-speed line till Zamora that will mean some change of schedules on the trains going from Madrid to Galicia. I wouldn't be too surprised if the new train schedules were known just a few days before they are in use.
