Hi there

I start from SJPP on 30 or 31 Aug and have picked up a knee injury. Can anyone advise md what the possibility is of having my back pack transported between hostels? Also approx costs? I really dont want to cancel or postpone.

Thanks
Sandra

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

We had our bags xfrd on 2 CF. 3-7 Euros-very easy to arrange and saves your feet and joints. Don't think twice. Just carry a daypack with essentials

One thought to keep in mind is that to use these services you must know exactly where you are going to end every day which means having the ability to call ahead by 7:00pm-8:00pm everyday to secure a lodging for the next day and then go online to make your bag reservation. Not a huge hurdle but one you must be prepared for.

I did use this service for part of my recent Camino and while it was nice carrying just a day pack there were certainly some days that it would have been much better for me to have stopped my day sooner (I had a torn meniscus) but lacked that flexibility so sometimes ended up pretty sore at night. I suppose I could have taken a taxi but that wasn't in me to do!

Hi, just another thought slightly off topic but... It might be worth considering a different starting point and save your knee from a very tough first day. Most Spaniards start in either Roncesvalles or Pamplona so you would be in very good company.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Hi

I too have a torn meniscus hence the thought that having my pack carried makes sense. Thanks for the advice.

Hi again!

Arranged for bag transfer from SJPP to Ronncesvalles and hope the knee injury will get me over the first tough days.

Regards
