I start the Camino Portugues from Lisbon on 29/30 August and was wondering if I'll need to take a light coat with me. I would appreciate if anyone with experience with walking at this time of year could give me their advice.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Generally speaking, you'll not need a coat on that time of the year. It is important to have a light long sleeve T and a fleece jacket (just in case) but not more than that.

I would be more worried with hot weather than cold weather! :p

So not the Portugues but the CF in mid September to October in 2014 I walked in temps from 3°C to 41°C according to the temperature signs at the farmacias. And yes comfortable in the 3° wearing a light fleece.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Last year, early September I was happy to have a light fleece jacket in Porto and on up the coastal route to Santiago de Compostela in the evenings and on a couple of rainy days.
