Thursday in Saint Astier

yes...
I'm just making a little plug for my local market.

Saint Astier is a pretty little working town not too far from Perigueux. It sits on the Isle river and has a lovely old church... and a sprinkling of shops and restaurants and a FABULOUS Thursday morning market.

The market fills the town centre with 100's of stalls. It is here every Thursday, come rain or shine, it's very very French and it changes with the seasons.

If you are walking this way, I really recommend that if schedules allow, you come on a Thursday... for a little spot of rural Perigordian France.

aahh... I drove across that bridge four times a day for years, taking my son to school... it's all decked out with summer flowers and flags right now... it's a lovely little town :)
