Hi all

Any ideas of some training walks I can do in and around Johannesburg?

thanks

Hi, the Johannesburg Hiking Club has a hike every Sunday, all year round, wet or dry, cold or hot, and for all levels of fitness, from family groups with young kids, to fitness fanatics:

You have to join the “slow” hike the very first time, but after that you can join the Medium Minus Hike, or the Medium Plus Hike, or just stay on the slow hike for a few weeks. The Brisk Hike (level 4) is for extremely fit hikers only! Their main area of hiking is in the Magaliesberg.

If Jsalt's suggestion does not work for you, create your own cross training schedule for base training then hone your workouts to long distance, flat surface walking then incorporate hills and stairs until you leave "Jburg".

Buen Camino !
