Quiz No.3!

A couple of weeks ago while doing some research for this Holy Year article (spoiler alert: it pretty much gives away the answers but not the order), I was looking at the popularity of various routes and that seems like a good topic for our next quiz!

According to the 2019 pilgrim's office statistics, the most popular route (among those who received compostelas) was the Camino Francés (55%), followed by the Camino Portugués Central (21%).

Edit: The Portuguese Coastal is considered separate from the Central for the purpose of these statistics.

There was quite a drop-off after that but the next four caminos were all very close in terms of popularity. I suspect many of you can list these four caminos, but can you guess all four in order of popularity from No. 3 to No. 6?

If I remember correctly the Camino Portugues da Costa is considered as an " official " route for the Compostela so I would put this one in third place seeing the popularity also here on the forum?

I tried to sneakily suggest that without completely giving it away by referring to the central route in the OP but in the interests of transparency, yes, the Portuguese Coastal is considered separate. I'll edit the OP. @peregrina2000 and @Richmond Gardner can have a mulligan if they like!

Can I jump in with the least popular ones that I've walked?

Camino Zamorano Portugués, about 50 of us walked it last year
Camino Torres (Salamanca through Portugal): I was the 25th person to sleep in its albergue in Alba de Yeltes in 2017
Camino Castellano-Aragonés: I was the 7th person to sleep in its albergue in San Leonardo (Soria province) last October
Vía Serrana from Gibraltar to Seville: three of us slept in the only public albergue there in 2017
Villajoyosa variant of the Ruta de la Lana: I was the 5th person that year to sleep in the albergue in Torremanzanas (Alicante province) in 2018
Fray José-Alfredo, the brother hospitalero at Santo Domingo de Silos' albergue (where I've slept in 2015, 2018 and 2019), told me that numbers are constant at about 100 of us a year.

My "educated guess" was based on my experience volunteering in the Pilgrim Office last Fall. Hope that doesn't take anything away from my win.

There is a separate section of the statistics bulletin detailing starting points. So in 2019, starting points in terms of percentage of the overall pilgrims (who received compostelas) on all routes were:

Porto (Central) - 8.03%
Porto (Coastal) - 3.29%
Lisbon - 0.76%

It doesn't appear as though the route taken from Porto is considered if the starting point is Lisbon.
