  • Jeffrey, I have a close friend who is doing it next month - a lady in her 60s who has done her research and training, and for whom this trek will have deep spiritual significance. She has never done the camino before. Is there something I can give her that would be helpful, not extra weight, that would remind her of my support for her camino? Has there been some little thing / resource you were glad you had?

    Hi Matt,
Not an easy one as spiritual significance differs significantly between people. I suppose the classic gift would be a small stone of significance for you or both of you for her to leave at the Cruz de Ferro. I never fail to leave a stone there when I go by.

I noticed you have done both Camino de Frances and Portuguese way---can you please give me your opinion which one you like best in terms of scenery? in terms of the terrain, which one is easier to do? How many days did you spent walking in each? Many questions but I appreciate any information you can share. I'm planning to do the Camino in May 2019, my first. Thanks much!!!

Hi there, sorry for the delayed response but i've been off the radar for a but. Scenery: Francés, easier: portuguese. I typically walk the Galician section for each (on the portuguese starting in Ponte de Lima)

I wondered why? But thanks much! I like to take photos of landscape and such, so this info is helpful.
