    Saint Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles, leaving in the afternoon

    IMHO you won‘t make the hike over to Roncesvalles in 4 hours 30 minutes. If you’re a competitive trailrunner maybe. It’s roughly 25k with 75% uphill over the whole distance. Good luck.

    Is it too ambitious?

    Perfectly doable in 12 days. As for training: Walk regularly, expand your distances and add some backpack-weight over time. Choosing training ground with different surfaces and with some up and down might also help training your knees and ankles. Even so, do expect some sore muscles and back...
