    Baztán Guide

    Walked this way last September. Enjoyed it, especially after first 15km from Bayonne, it’s not really by the river as mentioned by other posts. But don’t rely on my recall.

    Refilling Prescriptions

    👍 Perhaps it’s something similar to taking poles in carry on baggage. Some pharmacies have given me requested antibiotics and other medication without prescription while others will refuse. Plan ahead if necessary.

    Starting from Lourdes 1st April 2019

    Bon Chemin, and in a few days it will be Buen Camino! Ryanair now fly from Dublin to Lourdes, so maybe there will be a slight increase of Irish pilgrims on this route. If you have time or energy to post current information it will be appreciated. Enjoy.

    Hi Parksville, I walked from Lucca to Rome in 2015, April and early May. I have no memories of problems with dogs.....and I am not a lover of dogs. No mosquitoes at that time of year. You might encounter festival in hazel nut orchards 1st of May. Sempre avanti (Thank you Kazrobbo)

    I think it might be good for a rest day but having walked through it twice I wouldn't mark it in my diary for an extended stay. My first was walking from Lucca and only had picnic. Second time I slept but felt no need to extend stay. However it is a nice town. Also there is a big supermarket...
