Busing to the Camino in 2021

Me too! When I first discovered the bus to Pamplona , I traveled all the way by the Metro to 'Americana' and low and behold it took me all the way back to T4 before continuing. Yes , sometimes one has to change once en route but the Pamplona bus stop is only a few blocks away from reasonably...

How do I go about volunteering in a Donativo?

Uuummmmmm? Obviously the CF is the most popular route and I think that your chances of getting a 2 week posting would be better. Speaking of my own experiences , there would be Albergues offering positions , especially private ones without having attended a course. On one occasion I met a young...

On the Camino: One Day at a Time, one Photo at a Time 4.0.

Bercianos , Posted a while back , note the small bodegas directly below the church tower. After a very rainy season the roof of the bodegas collapsed and that was the end of the tower which in turn took the entire church with it. Some of the ruins are still to be seen , as well some of the...

Margret , I am so useless at this , the sign is on the left of Calle Major , opposite a fairly modern building . You need to emulate the photo by using the poplar trees. It is there. This is exiting town. There is nothing similar to the painting in the following town.

The location is a few hundred metres out of Bercianos. I am wondering if it is a fantasy depiction of the Santiago Cathedral or even that of Leon?

COVID Without herd immunity will you really sleep at an albergue?

Herd immunity will develop now just as the Spanish flu petered out then. It took 4 years without vaccinations?

Hey Margret , I really take cognizance of this post , In 2003 I detested this albergue. They charged €8 which was unheard of in those days and the the municipal hospitalero was only interested in collecting fees. The facility had massive kitchens but we had to make do with the most frugal. I...

On the Camino: One Day at a Time, one Photo at a Time 4.0.

I sampled two favourites , the first was in Viana where a 'wholewheat' version was served - there was more body to the desert. The second was a goats milk flan in one of the little towns 12km or so from Burgos ....Ummmmmm.

Take the dirt road option at the Alto Pérdon and you may just find yourself on the Camino.. Still , the cyclists were not hindered.

    Another mystery photo

@Bert45 You were very lucky to pass this hermatige when it was open. It is owned by a family and is seldom open. I think I may have posted as similar pic in a 'where is this place ' a few months back.

This must be one of the best portraits that I have seen on the forum. The lighting , the contrast , the contented smiling face and pose - incredible , me thinks.

On the Camino: One Day at a Time, one Photo at a Time 4.0.

2016 at San Anton. Two owl chicks , A Male and female , the smaller Female has it's head turned and is looking at the Male. Note how they poop outside the nest. One of the parent owls would bring live prey in the early hours of the morning and drop it on the roof of the albergue. Pandamonium...
