CF O'Cebreiro-Triacastela Day 30 (April 17 2010) Had an okay sleep. It looked like rain when we were getting ready to go so we put our ponchos on. Luckily, the weather held and we didn't get rain until we arrived. The walk here was quite beautiful. Mountain views, meadows, and pastures. We were...

Day 20 April 7, 2010 (CF) Carrion de los Condas to Terradillos de los Templarios There were 4 beds in the room last night in Carrion. We shared our room with a French couple who were our age and we went to sleep and woke up at the same time which was nice for a change. We have been blessed with...

Day 13 Belorado to Ages (March 31 2010): We got up early and started at 0720 our earliest start yet. Too bad we had to walk 2 hours to find an open bar for our first cup of coffee! A comment about the albergue last night; by the time the hospitalero got up and had the coffee going, more than...

Fountainhead Regional Park in Northern Virginia. We did a 7+ mile hike yesterday. This will be our go to hike as we train for our next Camino. Lots of up and down, some rocky parts and plenty of tree roots! It was busy, so we'll be going on a weekday next time...

March 28, 2010: Azofra to Grañon: Another beautiful morning. We stopped at the restaurant Seville, had coffee, and bought a couple of bocadillos for the road. There were a lot of bicyclists there. They seemed to be in a club - all wearing the same logo on their shirts. They loaded all their gear...

(An excerpt from our blog): On March 19, 2010 "We left for SJPP on a train from Bordeaux at 0727, I forgot to validate the ticket and got a lecture from the conductor. We arrived in Bayonne at 0930 and we had a couple hours to kill so we walked around a bit. When we got to SJPP we walked up...

What food did you ENJOY on your Camino(s)?

On the camino and at home one of my favorite meals was chorizo, potatoes onion topped with a fried egg and bread of course. I'm lucky to have a husband who loves Spain, loves to cook Spanish food and we love Spanish wine. Tonight he made my favorite Camino meal along with a red wine from Toro.

    Bedbugs in Granon?

Perhaps we will see you in Samos as we will start our Camino from Grañón in a few days. The experience as hospitaleros in Grañón exceeds any expectations we may have had. I love the village, the priest, the baker, Bar Teo and of corse all the pilgrims who have stayed here these last couple of...

    Bedbugs in Granon?

I have been Hospitalera for the last 2 weeks here at the albergue in Grañón. We do a lot of preventive cleaning/observing and so far so good. Be sure to stop here for the tradition of this albergue to welcome, care, and refresh all pilgrims interested in becoming part of the history of this...

    Perfume/cologne on the Camino

I am sorry you were sick! I have to admit perfume is a pet peeve of mine. I stopped wearing perfumes when I started taking public transportation to and from work. We have so many great wineries here in Virginia it just irks me when people wear perfume which can definitely interfere with the...

    pilgramage coming soon

My husband and I walked the CF in Mar/Apr of this year. We carried a light, two-person tent. We always found a place to stay along The Way so we didn't need to use it. Buen Camino to you and your pooch! Palma
