Accommodation Availability on the Invierno (September & October 2021)

We used the Camino Forum Guide. And this is my second Invierno. I do jave a few updates as it appears not to have been updated since my first pilgrimage in 2019. I will post those soon. Regarding Mora to Toledo it was hitting 40 that day so we took a bus to Toledo.

Accommodation Availability on the Invierno (September & October 2021)

I just walked from Ponferrada on Invierno and reached Camino Sanabres today. Staying at Albergue in Silleda. We had no problems finding accommodations just reserving 2 days ahead. I suspect end of September you wont even need to reserve ahead.

Seeking A Unique Property with home and area with open wall space

Looking for suggestions. I am seeking to buy a property on Camino Frances that would be suitable for a Gallery of Pictures(wall space) and a 1-3 bedroom home. The gallery is more important than the home and a seasonal place would work. Ideally 2 bed room. Targeting somewhere between Hospital de...

Anyone else flying into Spain soon?

We flew here from US on June 16 and walking various Caminos in Galicia and arrived back in Santiago today. There are decent numbers of pilgrims walking. Most Albergues, including Municipals, are open so there is no problem with anybody coming soon to walk

LIVE from the Camino Starting tomorrow from Santiago to Finisterre and Muxia

Unfortunately it is closed. But another 6.5K down the path is Albergue OCabanel, a fairly new, very clean, cozy albergue hosted by the very friendly Raquel.

LIVE from the Camino Getting crowded on Camino Finisterre

On the walk from Santiago to Negreira on Thursday I counted 52 pilgrims. My 7th time doing this walk and I don’t ever remember seeing more than 10 or 20 in any single day. Though the number is skewed by a group of 23 Spaniards. Also a first; never saw a group on this Camino. It quieted down on...

LIVE from the Camino Starting tomorrow from Santiago to Finisterre and Muxia

Trecile: We walked to Olveiroa and changed plans. Will slow down and take 2 days to Muxia. Can you recommend an albergue halfway or so?

In Negreira the always clean and comfortable Albergue San Jose was open for €12. Cotton sheets including a top sheet and thick terrycloth towel made it luxurious.

Thanks. Good information. I usually do this stretch in 3 days (and kind of want to do that so we have 2 days in Muxia )but always before after long pilgrimages to Santiago. Am in Covid poor shape so may have to stop in Lago.

Cool. Maybe we’ll see you. An old bald guy and a Japanese woman with a crew cut. We were more concerned about between Negreira and Finisterre as there are fewer options. But I am sure we shouldn’t have a problem.

LIVE from the Camino Starting tomorrow from Santiago to Finisterre and Muxia

We are leaving tomorrow from SdeC for Finisterre and Muxia. Wondering if any pilgrims have current info on open albergues? We will stop in Negreira first. Thanks.

COVID Without herd immunity will you really sleep at an albergue?

Yes. We walked the Via Francigena last July to October and stayed in some dormitories in Italy. Just followed standard covid rules.
