    No Compostela for You!

Hello! I am the original poster of the infamous we-didn't-get-our-compestella post. I didn't expect to see it resurrected after 2 years, but I think the sentiments expressed in my post struck a sour chord in what should have been (if there truly are any shoulds) a beautiful symphony of growth...

    Albergues operating?

Hello! My wife and I live in Vermont, USA. We are wondering at what capacity are the albergues on the CF operating? Would it be better to wait? How congested has it been? We did it 2 years ago & would like to do it again. In other words, if we come will find a place to sleep every night...

    No Compostela for You!

Sorry! Didn’t mean to let my baser side show through. I suppose I was becoming irate on my wife’s behalf. She doesn’t care! I have a Compostela from last year and I walked from Pamplona & skipped 3 stages. My Compostela is gathering dust somewhere, but my memories & my wife’s memories live...

    No Compostela for You!

I mentioned this in another post, but it bears repeating. My wife I walked 480 miles from SJPDP to SDC only to be told “we’re closed!” We had a bus reservation for 8:00 am today, so we couldn’t come back. My wife injured her knees, but still continued on, dutifully collecting her 2 stamps a...

    Bus Station

Thank you all for your suggestions. I did find a room, but sadly (or not) 2,158 pilgrims (most, I presume from Sarria, school groups & tours) made it impossible for me to get my Compostela. I don’t want to minimize their Camino, but it is frustrating to have walked 480 miles only to be told...

    Madrid Estacion Sur to Airport

Holà! I am arriving via ALSA into Madrid Estacion Sur at 5:00 PM tonight, which I see is 10 miles from the airport. A taxi is 50 €. Has anyone ever taken a city bus or train from Madrid Estacion Sur to Madrid Barajas? If so, please tell me how. Thank you for any help.

    Bus Station

Hello! I am three days away from SDC. It has been an absolute zoo since Sarria! I let all the students & groups pass & started stopping between stages & it got quiet again. My question is: if I get to SDC & there is no place to stay, do you think me & my wife could sleep at the Estación de...

    Jim From Ireland/Scotland

I am trying to find J fro Scotland who my wife Cheryl and I (Barry) met in mid September after starting I SJPDP. Long shot, but he’s 65, worked in submarines & is very personable. As I said, a long shot

    No SIM Card

Yes, just days they said. Of course, my Spanish is deplorable.

    No SIM Card

I saw the Mi Pais SIM, but they said no international calling. Very strange. Maybe it’s a Burgos thing. I’ll try again in Leon. I am using Skype & that works fine, so I guess I’ll just be happy with that.

    No SIM Card

Hello! I just left Burgos where I went to Vodafone, Orange, and Moviestar looking for a SIM card do I could call to the US, but none of them had one. Last year, in Pamplona, I had no problem. Does anyone know where I can find a SIM card with International calling? I am 5 days from León...

    Médical care in Najera

Thanks everyone! My wife did well today. She is probably not going to rest, but that is her Camino. Thanks for the great info about clinics, paying before you leave & using the help of hospitalero/as. I will allo get her some poles first chance I get. Thanks so much!

    Médical care in Najera

Thanks so much! My wife refuses to rest, so we will walk to Nájera (leaving now, 7:10 AM). I only have WiFi, so will probably have to wait until we get to Najera to get any further responses. At the rate she was able to walk yesterday, that will probably be 12 hours, so clinic will probably...

    Médical care in Najera

Hello! My wife & I are in Naverette. She started having severe leg & knee pain 2 days ago. Is there any place in Nájera where I can get her examined? I don’t speak Spanish well enough to explain her symptoms properly, so it would have to be English speaking. Any help will be greatly...

My Wife Insists We Start From SJPDP!

Great! That's what I thought. I'm surprised about the socks, though. I'll do that. Last year, many people said how much they envied, as their feet were "roasting."

My Wife Insists We Start From SJPDP!

Thank you, belatedly! I decided to reserve an ALSA bus out of Pamplona, but am open to a taxi, if I can share the expense with other pilgrims. I'll just be out the 44 Euros for the bus ticket, but get there sooner.
