    Will be traversing this section in September Carrion de los Condes to Terredillos 26 Km. ( just a little longer than your target), Terredillos to Bercianos 23 Km, Bercianos to Mansilla de las Mulas 26 Km then to Leon 19 Km. Often a little longer section leads to a little shorter section.     Worth keeping in mind that lifting of mask mandates does not eliminate the risk of catching Covid or any other airborne virus, it increases the risk while the virus is still circulating. Still worth carrying masks for extra protection in certain circumstances. .

    This was my understanding but it appears that when you register to attend the Pilgram Office you are registering for your Compostela. Possibly you can request only the distance certificate once your admitted.

    It seems maybe the new registration system locks you into a Compostela. I thought I had read from older posts when you just took you turn that you had the option. Will go with the flow.

    Great recovery destination.. We also travelled by train after our Leon-SdC in 2018 and spent 3 nights. As well as all that has been mentioned, the fruit & vegetable markets, parks and gardens and Picaso's childhood home all worth a visit. We loved it.Enjoy.

    We went via Mazarife in 2018 which was fine. We only did from Leon then but are starting from SJPdp this time in August and the slightly shorter direct route is appealing. Plenty of time to sort it out.

    Booked to depart Australia on August 16, transit in Heathrow depart August 17 for Paris, overnight then train to SPdP. Stop overs in Madrid, Paris, London on way home in October. Worry about restrictions and entry conditions a couple of weeks before hand. Confident things should be easier but...
