    Chef Jose Andres

Lol I think I came to our forum with nugget way back then too.. I’m a foodie, and was a Bourdain LOVER! We enjoyed seeing the restaurant with the fish as we’ve passed by it on two occasions.

    Chef Jose Andres

This might have been shared earlier, I admit I only glance at daily topics in email lately. But according to an article I just read on CNN , Jose Andres is doing a six part Discovery plus series on Spanish food!!!! Titled “ Jose Andre’s and family in spain” Foodies unite!

Unsettling Experience with Strangers at Hostel

You can have your thoughts and I can have mine, I do not believe these people were pilgrims. The threatening is odd behavior. I have walked many caminos over the past decade and I stand by my words I ( me, myself, first person), do not believe they were pilgrims. That that doesn’t sit well with...

Unsettling Experience with Strangers at Hostel

We have no idea if anyone was hurt, people intimidated to get access to where people sleep and money stored. Many pilgrims have had to go home and end their pilgrimages when their stuff was stolen… We have no way of knowing if anyone was hurt.

Unsettling Experience with Strangers at Hostel

Sending hugs! The camino gives us doses of our lives, in waves, walking helps us think about them. Know you did the right thing! These people were not pilgrims I am certain!!!!!

Unsettling Experience with Strangers at Hostel

I absolutely think this could be an emergency! Most if not all threads like this I think “ such is life”, get on… But these pilgrims sound very fishy and obviously not pilgrims… the threat alone “ if you don’t I’ll…” is an aggressive gesture, fill in the blanks, what could be said that’s not...

Leonardo Da Vinci in Burgos Cathedral (?)

And de Vinci is from Vinci vs a last name, so it would make sense if a student I suspect. I’m glad you shared this nugget of info, will check it out. One of Leonardo’s nemesis, is buried under the street of Viana If I remember correctly. I think a Count, but don’t quote me.

My buff has been so necessary!

Absolutely one of my must haves! A wool buff is my preference, I get two one on each wrist and they end up on my neck, hair, everywhere!

Knocking on doors to find a place to stay

I just slept in a bus shelter on the RV, it was perfect! And with five kids in tow from le puy to Santiago I slept in worse places than that. I would never knock on a door to ask for a place to sleep either, I am a “ trail angel” in the US and help hikers with food, accommodation , grocery runs...

    Personal Acts on The Camino

I/ we adopt old and dilapidated animals, we see death in the family a lot due to this. Each Camino we make it Muxia to throw in a SCOOP ( I can only surrender a scoop of them) of each ones ashes. I’ve done a few Caminos with kids and they’ve been instructed to throw me in there one day ( they...

Young woman (not a pilgrim) missing near Grado (Primitivo)

I can’t, necessarily, say I agree, I don’t know how they were found… in the woods scattered about? Or in a donation box at an Albergue? Edited to add the word necessarily…

New travel requirement - US (and other countries) to Europe, 2024

An inconvenience as a us citizen but I can’t blame the tit for tat, if such an obstacle is in place for our neighbors it’s only fair…

The new Rule 3 - no more tourist vs. pilgrim debates

I’m happy to see this stance, and glad you are addressing the insecurities of others that feel the need to shame others. Whether how they travel or if they need rescued. So revealing of people! And I love Ivar’s post! Great job!

Bus Muxia to Santiago Do I Pre book and with who?

Wow how times have changed… I’ve taken it twice, filled with nervousness that I’d miss it the first time. Terrified of the procedure. It ended up I walked to I think a coffee shop, bought my ticket, sat alone on a bench ( I think) and got on an empty bus…. It did fill up with what looked like a...
