    Suseia Bracelet

They say in the advertisement, it's made from DIRT from the Camino. How many of the beads are actually jet? Who knows, but I make jewelry and that probably costs them about $15 to make. That said, you can't put a price on art. If you love it, buy it. I'd like to know how they get dirt from...

Travel from Madrid to Puente la Reina

Patrick, is there a reason you don't just walk from Pamplona? It is a WONDERFUL city, beautiful in April, and easy to find nice lodging in, especially if you book now. I'm not sure where you are flying in from, but it's also a great place to adjust to the time change if you're flying from the US.

Travel from Madrid to Puente la Reina

I personally would catch the bus from T-4 Madrid airport to Pamplona. Then in Pamplona, there should be several buses a day to Puente la Reina.

    Autumn Camino

I've done it several times in September and honestly, you never know what the weather will be. It could be cold? It could be hot. It could rain. Yes, I'd definitely carry a fleece, in fact, layering is the way to go. I'd also carry a poncho or waterproof jacket. I never carry a "real" jacket -...

What do you do when you're not walking?

We really do need a "Hahaha!" button! One thing a lot of us seem to have in common is gardening. I think that's one of the things I miss most about selling my house. But I'll get another garden someday. Lots of talented people on here! I LOVE the doggie sweaters! :)

What do you do when you're not walking?

No, I haven't yet, though I'm thinking of putting up a website in the Spring. All of my work so far has been for friends and family. I also sold my house to my son last year and bought a van and I've been exploring the Western USA. I did old Route 66 across CA and AZ this summer and hope to do...

What do you do when you're not walking?

I enjoy learning about the people I chat with in these forums. I thought it might be fun to see what people do for fun when they're not walking the Camino? Here is what I love doing ... watercolor and color pencil pet portraits. What do YOU do? Mods, if this is not ok, feel free to delete it.

Advice to New Walkers: Leave Cherished Items at HOME!

Well, not a plain gold band or a simple ring, but I've seen people flashing some pretty expensive BLING! on the Camino and thought to myself, "They are just asking for trouble . . . " But that's just me. Pretty much a minimalist.

Advice to New Walkers: Leave Cherished Items at HOME!

I've seen many postings this week about cherished items being lost on the Camino. Stuffed animals, jewelry, etc. People, do not take ANYTHING with you on the Camino that you cannot afford to lose. Period. Look at each item you put into your pack or plan on taking and ask yourself, "Would it be...

    Stop Spraying Lavender Oil!

Please don't. The scent will give some people migraines.

    Stop Spraying Lavender Oil!

Haha! I can't bear most scents but rosemary, eucalyptus, and wintergreen actually calm my MCS. I've been known to carry a blob of Bengay in a hankie on a flight, or rub it inside my mask when I fly to block the scent of perfume in the cabin.

    Lost Lost bracelet

I'm sorry you lost your bracelet. And I see someone else lost their earrings. And another person lost their teddy bear. I lost a single gold earring on my first Camino too. Then I began telling people ... 'Do not take ANYTHING on the Camino that you cannot afford to lose." Part of the lesson...
