Are you planning to walk the Invierno? (Is it _finally_ catching on?)

I shall be walking the Invierno mid May with @Ninja, after setting off from Alicante on the Lana and then hopping across to walk the Olvidado from Cistierna. It sounds as though it will be a fitting finale to this camino trio.

is hummus readily available at supermarkets in spain?

I live n Spain and eat a lot of hummus, although I mostly make it myself. You will find jars of chickpeas in even the smallest village shops, but hummus is less available. Large supermarkets will sell it. Mercadona and Eroski definitely. Lidl and Aldi most probably. Supersol I would think so...

    Transport on the Lana

Oh yes, sorry, I wasn’t paying full attention! Yes, I have walked many lonely caminos, detailed in my signature section below. I have heard of women being harassed, and on one occasion had good cause to feel anxious myself. But rather than listen to my instincts, I carried on walking. I...

    Transport on the Lana

When do you start walking? I shall be setting out from Alicante on 7 April, and will be blogging each day. If you leave after me, and want to read about my walk take a look here. I expect that you will feel perfectly safe, but obviously no-one can predict what circumstances you will...

Or better still ‘go fund’ a charity. My partner has raised over 5,000 euros for a local cancer charity in sponsorship for my walks. I would never dream of asking for any contribution towards my costs.

Starting Ruta de la Lana from Valencia by end of March

@Hubs I cannot remember where I found this list and cannot vouch for its accuracy, but it seems fairly thorough, albeit from Alicante

    Almeria vs Malaga

Antequera is certainly a gem of a town on the Málaga route, with an impressive castle and old section. And Lucena is probably worth exploring, but I was too tired when we arrived to bother. I’d say the first few days from Málaga are a bit of a challenge with lots of elevation. Whereas the...

Is anyone here knowledgeable about WordPress blogs?

Hi @freeflyer123 thanks for your kind comments. I have taken a look at your blog and it is very easy to navigate, which I think is the most important aspect. Buen Camino for the Norte.

    Where to stay in Granada

I stayed in Hostal Al Andaluz in a six bed dorm (three sturdy bunks) cost 11 euros including sheets, but no blankets, and with a very nice modern bathroom. Booked via Hostalworld. It is fairly central and has a bar. Excellent value for a major tourist attraction.

New albergue to open between La Peza and Quéntar

Laurie, was it not the albergue in Alboloduy at the top of the hill, below the church? It all seemed in very good order last year.
