Hi Sarah, like yourself I am a Kiwi 🙂 well a Irish Kiwi.
I have walk the Camino Frances twice, and I am like you, a deep thinker. I am actually taking a group of mostly people I know from work( stressful work) on the Camino May 2024, have set up a website for them, we are starting on the 3,rd...
I did this stage with Victor, he was amazing. Has 4 horses and yes, you need to call him or email him. He responds very quickly. You can keep your pack with you on the horse, but wise to use luggage transfer for that stage. Just carry a day pack. It's amazing ride, I loved every moment of it...
I walked the Camino Frances, then 2 months later did TMB last year. Like everyone has stated, totally different. The Camino is a walk, it such an amazing experience, the fellow pilgrims make it so incredibly special. The TMB was totally different, it was my hike, and a hike it was. Totally...
I just walked Burgos to Leon. Came from Dublin... I flew Dublin to Bilbao, had lovely night there in a hostel. Then got morning bus to Burgos. Was so easy and cheap. I am sure you could do something similar to Estella. Just takes a little planning. Good luck 😃 👣
Hi fellow pilgrims, will be staying 2 nights in Leon, having a rest day. Be about June 1st, any ideas of nice handy place to stay. Private or shared.
Thanks Buen Camino 👣
On the CF now (Day 11) have seen a few snakes, mostly dead.. this was alive though.. baby I would say. Crossed the path in front of me outside Belorado. As it's getting hotter they are coming out. I also had a large black boar run across just behind me today , in the middle of nowhere.. scared...
Thanks CA_pilgrim. I will book the train. I think. It is only €7.50. Not to bad. I have got time to enjoy. I arrive in Bayonne at 1400. I think there is a train at 1420 . I will book that. Thanks
Hi, just wondering if anyone is arriving in Bayonne about 1430 on the 8th May and looking at either getting a taxi /ride-sharing to St.Jean? I can just book the train if not. Thanks Lucy 😊
Thanks Annie, for your information and obvious knowledge on the CF. I start next Monday from SJPDP and have pre booked accommodation to Pamplona. I am very happy now I did. I also get a sore back especially downhill, hopefully taking it slowly will help and using hiking poles. Buen Camino
Hi, love reading everyone's comments. I love my morning coffee and love tea as well. Has anyone tried taking a areopress travel coffee maker? I have one and I guess you have to carry some ground coffee and then just need boiling or hot water ☕
I have the same problem. Trying to find out if there is safe parking in SJPdP. I thought of parking in Bayonne and catching the train across maybe. Be interested if you find some long term parking in SJPdP. I tried the camping place but haven't got a reply. I am arriving SJPdP on the 8th may ...
Hi everyone, absolutely love this forum. I am starting CF on 9th May from SJPDP. I am going to be driving my car down from Brittany and just wondering if anyone knows of any long term parking around Bayonne? I am even happy to stay in hotel to be able to park there? As long as it is safe for a...
