I understand municipales can’t be reserved.
Am I right in thinking donativos can’t be reserved in advance?
What about hostels described as ‘religious albergues’?
I’ve got a sawyer squeeze I’m thinking of bringing but wondering if it’s a waste of time…are there water fountains regularly along the route? Say every 10km? I’d rather not carry more than a litre at a time
Possibly a silly question but I’ve not travelled much so humour me. Now the UK has left the EU can I just catch the bus from Pamplona (Spain) to SJPP (France)? Presume my passport will be stamped when I enter Spain but do I need to do anything when I enter France?
I’m planning some early starts and wondered what time breakfast was usually available in the albergues? Presume it varies a bit but is there a general rule? Don’t want to pay for it and get up early to find it’s not available…
Thanks for the info. I’ve checked my spam and nothing there. I also messaged them on WhatsApp…they viewed the message but no response yet.
It’s hard to book my other accommodation for other nights until I know if I definitely have a bed in Orisson…
I booked a night at Orisson in about a weeks time. I got an instant ‘thank you for your pre-order’ email stating ‘Your pre-order has been received. You will be prompted for payment for your order when your pre-order is released on a future date. Your order details are shown below for your...
I’ve got everything booked for the first couple of days. Decided to split the walk to Roncesvalles into two days to ease me in gently (first night in Orisson).
I notice a lot of hostels have the option of breakfast…what time is this normally available? I’m planning early starts to make sure I...
Thanks for the heads up…I naively thought early in the season would be quieter than mid summer. I arrive in Barcelona on 26th April so could get to SJPP to start on perhaps 30th April if that might help me miss the crowds?
Did you manage ok without booking anything in advance…thats my only concern really. I’m assuming in May I should be ok as the busiest period won’t have started yet
Why is it less so now? Even in May?
I’ll just be looking for a cheap bed in a dorm…so hoping to stay mainly in the municipal albergues. I don’t think you can book these in advance anyway can you…
Brilliant, thanks everyone. I’ll check out Gronze.
Is there still some accommodation along the way closed due to covid or is everything up and running now?
A friend of mine walked the Camino in about 2015. They said they found this spreadsheet (attached pic just shows one page of it) on this forum and it was invaluable. Is there an up to date version published somewhere? I’m starting the walk on about 1st May.
