If I leave Ponferrada early enough to arrive in Villavieja and spend some time at the castle Cornatel, can I leave the next day, spend some meaningful time beholding las Medulas and Orellan, and still get to puente de Domingo Florez?
Back in 2017 it was! We arrived in Astorga during siesta on a Sunday, so it was a bit tricky to find one, but there was a kind driver who was willing to drive us after searching and being pilgrim patient.
Thanks for all the creative thinking. Because the Invierno is somewhat shorter than two weeks, i thought I’d take a bus from Chantada to Ourense. If I do that, do I lose the chance to get the credencial? (If it does, that would be ok.)

I find myself intrigued by the idea of detouring to Ourense from Chantada and following the Sanabres until the two join together at a Lalin. Has anyone done this or given it consideration?

We faced the same issue in 2022 and decided to stay at a hostel in Ribadeo that offered shuttle service from the airport for a charge. Worked well. Enjoy the DelMar. It’s awe inspiring!
Hi Chris,
My friend and I walked the CdM in Oct of '22 and shared expenses at the hostels to keep the costs down. I basically did all reservations through Booking.com There is one albergue on the route and it is in Viveiro which is run by Oliva Lopez Hermida. (She is also the adm of the CdM...
My friend and I booked ahead given the uncertainty of the route. We then we’re able to split the cost which made it only slightly more pricey than a typical municipal Albergue.
