Every route has its joys and every pilgrimage its revelations. I’d love to read opinions and experiences of routes that are more rustic or out-of-the-way than the most-traveled routes (i.e. the frances and the portugues, both of which I have walked, and the norte, which I have not). I’m most...
Edit: no need for ride share now. I took the bus instead.
Bus strike planned for Thursday and Friday and the trains are all full. Anyone up for sharing a BlaBlaCar ride? DM if interested in going wednesday. I could possibly go Thursday but worry transport will get a bit difficult that day.
hi knowledgeable folks! I just arrived in SdC today (yay!) and heard from another pilgrim there might be a bus strike planned for Thursday-fri April 27-28. I can’t find anything on ALSA website. Anyone have more info? If this is legit, I’ll have to plan alternative transport to porto Thursday.
I nearly stepped on this little guy on my way into Ponte de Lima, Portugal. Can someone identify it? It was only about 12 inches/30 cm long.
(P.s. I checked Ivar’s new suggested title and it used “small animal” instead of critter and added the town name. I kept my original title as it was shorter)
I need to move my May Camino from Porto to early April or to June. I would leave Porto around March 29 and arrive in SdC a couple of days after Easter (which is April 9). June is an option but much more expensive.
Questions:
What are the biggest cons for going in early April? Biggest pros...
A post on the (edit) Portuguese Camino Facebook page and on the Camigas Facebook page mentions a recent encounter with a man wearing a mask who exposed his genitals to a female pilgrim somewhere on the Portugues. It must be before Corgo (because the poster mentions meeting another, second...
As I walked from SJPDP to SdC in May-June this year, I added comments and reviews of routes and albergues to the app I used (wise pilgrim). I benefited from reading other reviews within the app, too. I see very few reviews and comments in the wise pilgrim app for the Camino Portugues. So, 1)...
I’m planning to walk my second Camino in spring 2023, the portugues central from Porto. I walked sjpdp to SdC mid-May to mid-June this year with my husband (31 walking days including Samos- too fast, on reflection, so will walk that route again leisurely another time). I’m planning to walk solo...
An Aussie peregrino needs a filling replaced but is having trouble finding a dentist to squeeze him in. Any ideas and help appreciated! I’ll pass the info along to him. Many thanks!!!
Bonjour/Hola! For veterans of the Frances, I’d love to know your top 1-2 less-common tips. I’ve read the forum, made reservations for the first few nights, planned my pack/shoe/sock/pole game to manage my mild chronic shin splints and listened to my husband’s stories of his first Camino (sjpp) 4...
