    Luggage transfer on Camino Frances

Because I like a private room/bathroom, I always book lodging ahead, so there is absolutely no down-side for me to prearrange my luggage transfer. I use Pilbeo.com. I chose Pilbeo because their website was super easy to navigate and they were very responsive. I walked from Pamplona to Leon last...

    Returning from Finisterre to Santiago

A couple of days after arriving in Santiago, I want to walk to Finisterre. I plan to spend a night, or 2, and then I want to return to Santiago. A couple of questions for those who have made this trip... 1. Is Finisterre worth a 2- night stay, or should I just stick to 1 night? 2. Is there a...

Anyone know why Spanish people put water bottles outside their front door?

As a former resident of California, I can say with certainty that you don't need a water bottle to tell you when there is an earthquake or aftershocks! 😂o_Oo_O😂

    Vodafone vs Orange

iPhone 14 Pro and I have to say, the photos and video quality are amazing! Of course that's coming from 2 years with the 12-mini! I chose Pro over Max, because Pro was a little smaller in size.

    Vodafone vs Orange

I had the opposite. Bought a new phone before my Camino, basically for the fabulous camera, but it was eSIM only! On past trips to Europe, for physical SIM, I have used both Orange and Vodaphone. Both have worked well. I always stop at the kiosk, or store, in the airport and the clerk installs...

    Vodafone vs Orange

If you’re looking for data only, I love Airalo, eSIM. I set it up on my phone before I left and switched over to it right from my phone when I landed in Madrid. Then did the reverse coming back home. Also super easy to top off right from the App if you need more data while on the Camino.

    I'm so discouraged!

I used the KT tape to wrap each toe, so it was sort of like the silicone toe coverings only I thought more comfortable. I then put my Ingini toe socks on and then my lightweight smartwool socks over those. I had tried everything, Vaseline, glide, Compeed (got super expensive), this for me worked...

Reliable Luggage Delivery from Pamplona to Santiago

I used Pilbeo. Excellent service and a great website to set it all up. Everyday I received notification that my bag had been picked up and then another notification that it had been delivered. Highly recommend!

Help With Shoes for Over Pronation

UPDATE: I know that footwear is as individual as there are individuals :) , so with that said, my journey to find a holy grail shoe has taken me through almost every brand ever made. I have RA, so my feet are always a problem and I've been retired for 2 years, so trading in daily work shoes (aka...

    Shoe issues CF from SJPDP

As I was writing my response, I see that someone else mentioned Topo's and then you responded. Sorry for cross-posts. Again good Luck!

Walking the Sarria-Santiago Camino in February 2023: Tips on Albergues and Weather

Hi There! I just stumbled onto Gronze a few days ago and it is super helpful, especially in planning some different km stages from the guide books! Quick question: Do you know what the * means beside some of the lodging choices? Are they like a star rating? I searched the site for an...

Help With Shoes for Over Pronation

Agree 100%!! I went to a podiatrist and received a ton of info about the way my feet, knees and hips work, or don't work, together. 1st Physical Therapy session is tomorrow and insoles are in the works. I am very comfortable in Merrell and Keen sandals, so those are coming back into play, as are...

Help With Shoes for Over Pronation

Thanks for such an in-depth and informative share. I'm having a hard time at my local REI finding shoes in my size, hence the ordering on-line route. I think I will call around to other REI's and see if they have this boot in stock and in my size ranges. Even if I have to drive a bit farther, I...

Help With Shoes for Over Pronation

How did you find a chiropractor who had a sports/hiker slant to her practice? Did you share what you were going to do when calling for an appointment? Thanks!
