    Walking VF in March

Just a question, why would I start from SM and not from Lucca? Will I miss out on beautiful landmarks/landscapes if I start from SM?

    Walking VF in March

Thank you for the suggestions. Does anyone know: is March too early for flowers to bloom etc in Tuscany? I would be sad to walk in a wintery landscape just missing out on spring by only a few weeks.

    Walking VF in March

Hi all, This past september I have finished the Camino Frances from SJPdP and now I am looking to walk a small portion of the VF in March, probably in Italy or perhaps France if there are good suggestions. I'm looking to walk some shorter stages in beautiful landscapes, anywhere between...

Tips for buying warm clothes in Ponferrada

Thanks everyone, that is very helpful. Hopefully I can find what I need tomorrow and be on my way comfortably!

Tips for buying warm clothes in Ponferrada

Thank you for your reply. That seems like a good option. Any tips on picking the Camino back up from the Decathlon? If there are any Pilgrim shops on the camino with a good collection that would be an option too (although probably lots more expensive). Perhaps someone recalls.

Tips for buying warm clothes in Ponferrada

Buen camino, Tomorrow I'm walking through Ponferrada. It has been cold on the CF these past days and it will get even cooler and rainy. Does anyone have tips on where to get warmer clothes in Ponferrada, but not too far off the camino as I will be walking on and don't want to waste too much...

    Getting from Biarritz/Bordeaux to SJPP

Thinking about it a second time, maybe flying into Bordeaux is just as good. Spend the night in a hostel. Next morning, you take the same TGV to Bayonne for 2 hours. Rest of the itinerary stays the same. Choose whichever option is cheaper and/or more comfortable for you :) Either option requires...

    Getting from Biarritz/Bordeaux to SJPP

I would take the 14hr layover in Stansted so you can spend the night and then fly into Biarritz. Then take a 10 min (SNCF or TGV) train to Bayonne. From Bayonne there is a direct train which you seem to have already found, to SJPdP. I you need any more help, let me know. I am currently on the...

    Accommodation Cizur Menor/ Zariquiegui

Oh that is great news, thanks for your reply! And those are some beautiful pictures. I'll probably call ahead then to check if the Order of Malta is open and if it is closed after all, I can still walk from Zubiri to Pamplona and possibly bus to Cizur Menor and back.

    Accommodation Cizur Menor/ Zariquiegui

Thanks for your reply. On Gronze, for Cizur Menor it states 2 options: La Orden de Malta (which is shown as closed on Camino Ninja) and Maribel Roncal which also states that it is closed. The semi-affordable option of Hostal Ardoi in Zizur Mayor is fully booked for my date. And last, Albergue...

    Accommodation Cizur Menor/ Zariquiegui

Hello fellow pilgrims, I'm leaving for SJPdP on 30 august and currently I am looking into some sleeping options for the first few nights. I would like to walk from Zubiri to Cizur Menor or Zariquiegui, but the albergues as listed on Camino Ninja (and also when researching the internet)...

CF in september: bring rain trousers or no?

Thanks all for your replies until now! Whereas DyanTX said the answers to his same question were 50/50, I think this thread is definitely leaning more towards no: don't bring rain pants. I think I'll go with my good quality rain jacket and my hopefully waterproof (it was cheap from Decathlon, I...

CF in september: bring rain trousers or no?

Even though there are ample 'which clothing to bring'-threads, I haven't been able to find a good answer yet for the following. I'm walking the CF from Sept 1 to +- Oct 5th. I'm planning to bring a rain jacket but no rain trousers: I think quick-drying leggings will work better and it'll save...
