We mistakenly took the difficult route today. So happy my husband was there to guide me as my short legs could not make the giant step downs. A very tricky but short section indeed. Luckily we emerged unscathed.
Thanks for everyone’s reply.
It is the Centro de Tourismo Rural al Puente hotel in Mansilla de las Mulas..
We cross referenced phone numbers and checked again with another host. Confusing but sorted.
We are in the same situation tomorrow evening and our host at Albergue la Perala in Berciano has kindly booked us into an al albergue in Reliegos tomorrow night.
However, we cannot seem to find the address anywhere.
Can anyone here please help?
The name is “Albergue el Puente” in Reliegos...
My skort also allows for modesty during nature calls using a GoGirl ( female urinary device). Can wear leggings over short part and easy to remove once warmed up.
My Altra Olympus lining started to disintegrate at 350km. I got a full refund and am now very happy in Brooks Cascadia 16 EE mens (I am female). A very durable and comfy shoe.
I am yet to walk my Camino but am counting the days at less than 50.
Some years ago I went to Patagonia for two treks and a much anticipated journey to Antarctica. On Day One I broke my ankle on a steep descent down Mt Fitzroy. After the initial shock, pain, medical care etc, we decided to...
Have had a few laughs reading this thread. My husband rarely wears “grown-up” trousers. Even have a photo of him in Antarctica in shorts. He will be wearing shorts for our September CF. May add some thermal tights if it gets cooler.
Good to know that peanut butter may not be readily available. I rely on it as an easy gluten free snack (try it on apple slices). Hoping now that the Camino will provide.
Hi Paula
I totally feel your pain.
We’ve just finished an 86km/4 day walk. I am now the sad and sorry owner of severe blisters in all sorts of places that have never had them. I wear toe socks, but due to my late change of footwear, ( my Altra Olympus causing Achilles tendonitis ) I seem to have...
Achilles tendonitis is indeed a painful condition. I have had recent shockwave treatment by a physiotherapist with good results. Single leg heel raises and also stretching is part of the treatment as well. My shoes are Altra Olympus.
I am walking an 80km test hike in 2 weeks to check gear and...
I have purchased direct from the store and found them very professional. No experience with the online platform though. Very popular with the local trail running community I believe. Hope this helps.
I can also vouch for Wild Earth stores.
I have also decided to join the socks and sandals brigade and just purchased the Keen Newport ladies version. Tried on in the shop with thick socks and felt pretty good. Have done a small walk ( in the dark to hide my shame) and they were fine. Will test them out on the trails soon enough but...
I live in “The Hills” district and am also walking Frances later this year after a couple of postponements. The Samford Conservation Park is on our doorstep and we walk there most days with lots of hills. As a guide there is about 200m elevation gain in a 6-7km walk. Shared with mountain bikers...
