I am on the Coastal Portugués route now. I am staying in Albergues but people trying to book private accommodations on the day or for the next day are having problems.
Tonight I am in Agucadoura at the beautiful new albergue. It is full at 3pm. I was chatting with the hospitalera and she said...
I thought I would add to this thread having just completed this stage last week.
After reading about it and watching the YouTube, I was a bit concerned. But I didn’t want to miss the lovely canyon below. There hadn’t been any recent rain and I dearly wanted to avoid any extra road walking.

These horses on the Olvidado recently may not worry most people, but I’m very afraid of them!
When it was obvious they were coming my way, I stepped off the path. I think they were curious but my very brave voice told them to go the other way. And they did!!
Thank you @AshireGirl but I turned onto the San Salvador at Buiza and am now in Oviedo! I replied to your message about albergues on the Lebaniego. Enjoy!

The second half of the Norte has some very nice parts and was quieter than the Primitivo.
I’m a few weeks, I will find...
What a beautiful day on the camino! And to finish with such a welcoming albergue. I walked the Salvador in 2015. Even though I may notice a couple of changes, it looks still a quiet way.
I hope the heat settles down soon.
Buen camino.
Yes, I walked this section in October a few years ago and I would highly recommend it.
Many pilgrims on the Norte that year turned off to walk the Primitivo so the way did become quieter after the split! However, there were enough pilgrims walking to have a sense of community.
The weather in...
