Greetings dear friends...
I have this burning question once again that I want to ask my wise and more traveled friends.
As I understand it we need 2 stamps per day in our pilgrim passport in the last 100 km to get our Compostela.
What do you do when you rest over in a town for another day...
greetings Peregrinos y Peregrina...
Our Camino Portuguese is one month away. And as I plan to make this one special for my wife, I am overplanning again...
now I have painted myself into a corner. I booked at Santiago, and a few nights back on the trail as well...
I have also booked all the way...
My wife and I are planning to walk the Portuguese Camino in June/ July 2018. It is the only time she will be able to do that, as a teacher during our long school holiday. I am an experienced hiker, she is not. I want to focus on her enjoying the Camino experience as much as possible, therefore...
Dear friends on the Forum- I have written over 50 blog entries on ewaldschmidt.blogspot.com about my camino experience, with over 130 photos published. But it is in Afrikaans, and the translation function doesn't always work very good. So, for an American friend, I translated my conclusion of my...
I have walked the Camino from Leon to Santiago from 30 May to 17 June. Some days it went really well, other days my feet killed me, with blisters and cramps. Some days I could follow John Brierley's days in his guide, some days I only did 8.5 km.
But I met some wonderful people along the way...
Hi friends, I finished today and got my Campostela :D
There was just one tradegy, I left my favourite hat hanging over the chair on the last day between Pedroza Arca to Santiago, in Hotel Restaurante Amenal, just after jou went under the highway trough the bridge. It is brown canvas, and has...
I am 3-4 days away from Santiago, and have booked a hotel room in Finisterre for Saturday evening. But I just can´t find, in English, the bus schedule to Finisterre from Santiago. My plan is to go there Saturday morning, and return to Santiago on Sunday. I must be back in Madrid on Monday to fly...
Remember to fill up with lots of water at Foncebadon, there were no water available pass the Iron Cross to El Aciebo on the other side- difficult terrain and on a hot day you will need water!
I just heard from somebody on the Camino Frances, more or less at Torres del Rio, that the Camino is very busy at the moment, and that she is finding it hard to even get private accommodation.
Would this be true? A little bit worried, as I am leaving for the airport in an hour, and will be...
Hi dear friends, if everything goes according to plan, I will be arriving at Santiago de Campostelo (via the French Route) on 15 June 2011. I plan to continue on to Finisterre. But when my journey finishes there, I wondered if it would be possible to see a bit of Portugal on the way back to...
Hi everybody,
I am Ewald Schmidt from Nylstroom, South Africa.
If all goes according to plan I will be walking a part of the Camino Francés from 31 May. I would love doing the whole route, but will only have time to try from Léon to the end.
