Your profile says you want truth. The truth is that a priest can not give you absolution without hearing your confession and Act of Contrition. I would guess he gave you a blessing. Please, go to confession. Make an appointment with a priest at your local parish so you can spend some time with...
I'm pretty sure the Camino doesn't"make" any money from pilgrims walking through towns. This project is affecting the towns through which it passes by taking away money that would otherwise be spent in them by pilgrims passing through but there is no financial gain to the Cathedral.
I'm hoping to start in Lourdes this time in early September 2016, going to SJPDP sometime in the second week September and heading out on the Camino Frances. Once I get to Sarria I'm going to take the train back to Leon and go North up t San Salvador then do the Primitivo from Oviedo to Santiago.
I was apparently blocked from American Pilgrims on the Camino because I ws defending the Camino as a pilgrimage. I am so glad to be here where there is a better understanding of its history.
I am so sad that Eleni and I did not exchange email info before I lost her. I saw her last in Carrion de Los Condes. She is a beautiful blonde with long, curly hair from Greece, early thirties, if I remember right. Eleni, if you are out there or anyone knows who I am speaking of, please contact...
He can send you a "money request" from his Chase account that goes to your email address with a transaction number. You then log in to Chase and using that transaction number and your own credit card or debit card or whatever put money into his account. We have done this successfully numerous times.
I should admit that in part my question was because I just recently had to replace my chain, crucifix and medals because I had taken my necklace off when trying on blouses in a department store, hung it on a hook in the dressing room and forgot it there! I had had it for many many years so I was...
Is this meant to be about doing the Camino San Salvador or about visiting Oviedo? I am, God willing, planning to take the train to Ovcido from the Camino Frances and back again.
Thanks, everyone. I think I will leave the necklace but wearing my wedding band. I got it to not always have to wear my original wedding set so it won't be too much of a big deal if it's lost - however, I hope it's not! :) Ultreya!
I almost hate to ask this question cause I hate being so distrustful. But, I wear and my gold wedding band and a silver neckchain with a crucifix with a few medals on it usually 24/7. Is there any chance of it being taken from me? (I ask because a Church group went to Ecuador on a mission trip...
Izak, how many days did you take for the entire walk from Madrid to Santiago? I want to do this route so badly but only have 33 days total. Did you go to Leon from Sahagun before heading north?
Once the United Nations (UNESCO) acknowledged and proclaimed the Camino Frances and Santiago de Compostela to be World Heritage Sites, the entire context for the Botafumeiro ceremony changed. Originally and for over one thousand years, solely a Roman Catholic pilgrimage, now the Camino...
The latest info that I received via email says:
Hello,
It is not too soon.
Anyway our service is: we wait for the pilgrims in Pamplona station (train, bus, or aiport) take them to our house and next morning to SJPP or Roncesvalles and they can start their Camino. Our place is cc at half way...
I checked both Travelocity and Expedia. For about $225 more than just round trip to Madrid I can get from home to Madrid to Pamplona and then Santiago to Madrid and home. Awesome!!
