    Heat is back…

    Landed in santiago today. 35 degrees, felt nearly unbearable to this irish man. 40 degrees c tomorrow (104f!) and will be that high for three days. Mad (and dangerous) temperatures to be walking in. Headed for La Coruña, 21 degrees, felt almost chilly in comparison and it's only 70km away...

    On my way back to the Monastery of San Martin after a few sherrys, i paused for a time in the Plaza de Quintana de vivos. I had the square almost to myself and could explore the east face of the cathedral close up.

    Day 1 on the Ingles, a misty and damp summer's day. However I quite enjoyed the faded grandeur of the architecture and naval history of this city. The plazas are so different than one finds in the likes of the towns of the meseta or further south, with all evergreen trees etc.
