    My sister and i stayed in Arcos at Quinta São Miguel de Arcos. Highly recommend. Beautiful place with a lovely pool but it's inland. Hang a right at Vila do Conde : )

    On both Caminos I took a paperback AND my kindle. I LOVE to read so for me it was worth it. This August when I'm on St.Cuthberts Way I will only be taking my phone to read from....or maybe a paperback! Not THAT much weight to worry about.

    My sis and I used Booking.com for our CP and loved it. Very user friendly. We stayed at nice comfy establishments and even though they were not alburgues(except for two) We still met a fair share of peregrinos.

    Recommendations for where to stay

    My sis and I stayed with Miguel last June 2017. His place is wonderful, clean and one can stay in a private room with twin beds as we did. We had to walk down the hall to the toilet but no big deal. I highly recommend O Recuncho do Peregrino.

    I had the best spaghetti Bolognese at the beach in Laburge just before we settled in at S.Tiago school house albergue. Can't recall the name of the place but I did remember to take a picture

    Joseph Fiennes taking family on Camino

    Joseph and Ralph Fiennes mother, Jennifer Lash, wrote a wonderful book, On Pilgrimage, about her travels to several holy sites one being Santiago de Compostela. It's probably still in print. Get it if you can and read it. Very inspirational.

    My sis and I stayed at Balearic Acuña on June 10 2017 and had a wonderful experience. Our room, with fluffy white bathrobes waiting, was just across from the heavenly pool. We indulged in a pilgrim's spa experience which included warm water Jets and a leg massage(19 euro) and ate a yummy...
