    Baztan 2013...deciding!

Oh, and about Bayonne, I thought it was a lovely city to walk around in, worth the time to get to know, especially after a long train ride! I even went to a yoga class! Delicious food, too. I stayed with a local person so can't give advice about where to stay, but the folks at the Cathedral are...

    Baztan 2013...deciding!

Wow, I haven't heard of the Napolean or the Valcarloss routes -- can you send me your favorite links about them? The Baztan is great, I just posted my stages, and will try to get some blog posts up one of these days.

    My Baztan Route, Sept. 2012

Wonderful route! I recommend it if you're looking for a more solitary journey. Weather: The weather in September was pretty good! It was not too hot, there was a fair amount of sun, but it was quite drizzly at times, especially in Bayonne. Pilgrims: There was literally NOBODY in the albergues...

    Depressed on the Camino

Hi again all, After a few good days I'm back in a sad headspace, I guess the Camino is a metaphor for life and I keep bringing my bad stuff from life onto the Camino, surrounded by what feels like shallowness and then got treated poorly by a fellow pilgrim I ha a bit of a romance with (probably...

    Depressed on the Camino

Thanks for such warm responses, all! I asked to help out at Bercianos but they didn't have any work and didn't seem to know what to do with a crying American girl, so I left and joined my Camino friends (a couple) in bergo de ranero, and had a pleasant nice in a WELCOME lone room at the hostel...

    Depressed on the Camino

I think I'm about 40k from Leon... Biasomething del Real? Heading toward burgo de Renara (or something-- I can't keep the names straight!) at dusk because I flipped out at the albergue and didn't know what else to do but walk. Ha! I'm going to ask in the Leon tourist office about the other...

    Depressed on the Camino

I don't make friends easily, and am having a miserable time on the Frances. I've walked other more solitary routes and have loved them. I made some friends early on on the Camino, but they've gone on faster than me and I'm really feeling the loss. I have no problem being alone in the woods but...

    Has anyone walked this route?

I walked this and it was AMAZING! The last 2 stages had a lot of traffic noise even though the walk was gorgeous and in the hillside above the highway so not right on the road and still pretty, but I recommend earplugs or music if traffic noise bothers you. DEFINITELY worth walking, not too...

Also, what days and times are the Amies open? Qu'est-ce que sont les heures que le bureau des Amies est overt?

    Has anyone walked this route?

Hi! I am thinking of walking this route in a few days from now (about Sept 12, 2012). Can you tell me, how is the weather? And maybe, what is the easiest way to Bayonne from southern Spain? I understand both French and Spanish if you prefer to reply in one of those languages... Merci y gracias!

    Camino Interruptus

Did you like the route from Huelva? Any advice? I am considering that route or from Cadiz. Thank you!

Cadiz to Seville in October (edit 2016)

Thanks for this excellent trip log! I am considering this route or the one from Huelva. I am glad that you broke it down into smaller stages, I prefer shorter distances in the beginning. Any advice from folks who've walked it since 2009?

Walking in Fall: Hot in Andalucia, Cold in Galicia??

Thanks for all the tips! I get very cold so I think I will bring my light fleece, gloves, light thermal shirt/tights and hat along with the rain suit and *maybe* a sleeveless vest. Great tips everyone!

Walking in Fall: Hot in Andalucia, Cold in Galicia??

Hi all, I'll be starting either from Sevilla or Cadiz (topic for another post!) around the 10th of September. I'm thinking, it will still be hot in Andalucia, yes? But, by the time I get to Galicia (I am a slow walker!) it will be wet and cold? I walked the VdlP from Zamora in July of 2009...

    Data card for iPod

I also have an unlocked iPhone and would like to know about getting cellular data service. Mobile plans look just as complicated in Spain as they are in the US. Vodaphone has 30 Euros, 300MB of data and 300 SMS. That is awfully pricey in my book! Movistar, I think, has 12 Euros for...
