Again, I want to say thank you to everyone who has a kind and caring word or a positive one to share. Thank you. It is only 2 days on and I am doing my best to get on. I am ok..still a bit shaken but ok.
Let my experience be a warning to take care. I have seen in 3 and a half years things have...
I have stayed at Pension Acebeche which was fabulous. It is righr around thw cornwr from the Cathedral and it's attic room has views if the top of the spirez whixh are lit ul at might. Try to book directly as it will be much cheaper. Also, Hostal Susu is very good value and a 2 min walk to the...
Thank you to everyone who has given kind and encouraging support here, it has been really helpful. I don't think retaliating against him is going to help though so those who suggested that, I just say no thanks. I did walk today but was a bit jumpy when I saw a cyclist. I have never been...
Today I was walking from Melide to Arzua - I was enjoying the walk and meeting new people and the excited faces of those who had come from Sarria. I was happy to see that the litter problem from what we had seen in 2013 was better now.
About 2km from Ribidiso a cyclist was riding toward us...
Someone posted a link a couple of weeks ago that was a pdf download for the Frances, illistrating each stage and what was in each town (services, accom etc). Does anyone have the link handy they can repost?
Just wanted to say to you that uou really do meet good people that you connect with - I met one lady at the bus station on the way to SJJP and another at the alburgea and walked with both - this was just a few days ago. You will constantly meet new people so please, relax.
Beilari was great. The hosts were friendly and very caring. The rooms were very clean. Food was vegetarian and very good. Lots of wine. The albergue is across the road from the pilgrims info centre. Definitely worth staying there.
Wish I had taken a tub of vasoline with me because I have blisters now which are painful and I have had to stop walking and it was my day 3 of the Camino. Feeling :(
2 days into the Camino I got blisters again, on the lateral sides of the heel and on my little toes. Had to take a day off and am feeling disappointed.
I stayed at Albergue Beilari 2 nights ago. It is very clean and Joseph is so friendly and welcoming you will not find a better place to atay. It is right actoss the street from the pilgrims office.
That is just a scum bag thing to do. Some people on the Camino should not be there. That may upset some here but really, are they that needy? Or just selfish and greedy. Hope 'said' people read this. Shame on you.
Last time I walked the CF I started in Pamplona. This time I am starting in SJPP and really looking forward to it. There are a few sections I will leave out in the middle. If I had a short time I think I would get to Astorga and walk from there because I loved it more. There are so many great...
I agree the right socks are key however, nothing can really prepare you for the long continuous, day after day, pounding on your feet. I know of a marathon runner who uses Vaseline on their feet and then places socks on top and has never had a single blister.
I have used Vaseline with some...
Why not do both? I am considering that. Walk Valcarlos to Ronscevalles and then if I am not satisfied and want to go over the mountains then I will take a taxi back to SJPP or Orisson and go over the top :)
Aw Peter that's no good, sorry to hear this news. Couldn't you send your pack on and just walk a little part of each day? Shame to miss out completely.
I hope you heal quickly.
Kate
