Hi ,
I hope that someone will be able to answer couple of questions .
I know that each year and day are unpredictable BUT...
Will it be difficult to find accom. in Feb. in SJPP ? Also , in other locations along the Camino?
Is there somewhere that I can find out this info? - Guide Book for...
I was fortunate enough to walk the Camino Frances twice and the memory of that journey lives within me everyday. My thanks to all the pilgrims I met along the way ; also to the many volunteers at the Refugio's that had a bed for me each night .
I like how this forum has keep me informed . Thank you to everyone for keeping the dream alive.
I am kicking around the idea of starting in SJPP at the end of October and walking for a month .
Not sure of the weather that time of year . Any thoughts ?
Also , wondering about refugio...
You have taken a lot of wonderful photos .
The cafe con leche photo took me back , I enjoyed so many of them.
The Spanish sure know how to make a cup of coffee.

Hi guys,
I recently read in the MEC catalog about Bed bugs. MEC is a sport clothing and equipment shop in Canada .
The Staff tip in this catalog is to bring patchouli and lavender essential oils because bed bugs and other biting crawlies tend to dislike the smell. I would assume there is some...
Hi fellow Pilgrims,
I would like to know how to get to SJPP from Pau ??? And if anyone would have an idea on the cost of this transportation ?? Thanks in advance , Astelle
Ickgj,
Just thinking of the itch from bug bites has me squirming . It's sad to think how your camino has been changed from this neglect within the refugio and of other pilgrims. I wonder if signs were posted in the refugios telling pilgrims how to deal with bedbugs would help?? No one wants...
Hi Pilgrims,
I must say the thought of bedbugs creeped me out before my walk.
Bed bugs do not live on a person . They only stay for the "feast ".
However , they can live in things such as mattresses, bed frames, packs and even a sleeping bag.
They hide in the seams and can live up to a year...
Hi Gal from Adelaide,
I'm Astelle from Eastern Canada.
I too am on the slippery side of my fifties. In the spring of 2006 , anyone in their 50 would have been considered young . There were lots of pilgrims in their 60's and 70's . I even met an old fella who claimed to be early 80's. So you...
Pablo,
You are so right .On the camino , preventing blisters becomes an obsession .
Even one blister will take a week to heal and every step hurts. The smallest blister can feel bigger than a big toe. I remember them well from the camino. Funny thing , I never got a blister on my walks...
Lilypond , Your reply has brought tears to my eyes. Thanks...It's good
To answer your question " will I walk another camino " the answer is easy " yes " ,
I have to , I'm not sure why . It's as if I've lost something or maybe I found something.
Yikes !! Now I'v gone all corny...
Hi All,
My nickname is Astelle and I walked the Fr Camino last spring and enjoyed .
I have signed on to read the messages posted , so that I can relive the wonderful days
on the camino. The walking was easy for me but the emotions ran wild.
I did have some trouble with blisters but I met...
