It runs from Vilanueva de Arousa . . . but the time varies with the tides. This is the website of the boat I took to Padron

It was a lovely ride passing many crosses along the banks of the river commerorating the route Saint James took towards Santiago.
I walked from Porto - Santiago using the Variante Espiritual and received my compostela without any difficulty late May this year. Loved this route, and thourougly enjoyed the boat ride from Vilanueva de Arousa to Padron. Check out the "HOPE HOUSE" donativo for lodging near Vilanueva de...
I highly recommend Camino Portuguese starting in Tui Spain (Or even better across the river from Tui in Valença, Portugal). Valença is an easy 1 ½ hour train ride from Porto(great little city). Once you reach Pontevedra, you can opt to take the Variente Spiritual which includes the Pedra e...
Hello friends - Patty and I will arrive in Pamplona by train from Madrid the afternoon of August 15. We’re hoping to find others to share a cab to SJPP. DM if you’re interested. Thanks!!
I had the same problem - I jumped ahead by train to Valença the continued on much better tracks on to SJC. Try the spiritual variant out of Pontevedra- wonderful!!
Hello - I did the costal route from Porto via Caminha then to Tui and Pontevedra mid May. From Pontevedra I went west via Combarro (great little Celtic town in Galicia) to get on the Variente Espiritual to reach Santiago via Padron. The stretch from Comabarro to Vilanova de Arousa was one of...
I guess it would be helpful to mention the date we'll be traveling through Pamplona . . . August 15, 2018
Hello to all! We plan on starting my third and Patty's first Camino in August 2018. We expect to arrive in Pamplona by train from Madrid at approximately 2:40 PM. We hope to find other...
Hello to all! We plan on starting my third and Patty's first Camino in August 2018. We expect to arrive in Pamplona by train from Madrid at approximately 2:40 PM. We hope to find other pilgrims traveling from Pamplona to SJPP at or near the same time to share a taxi. DM me if you have any...
BlueSocks Hostel is Great! Right on the river in a wonderful part of town. You might consider taking the metro out of town towards Matosinhos to avoid a long, not so pleasant walk out of town. Also consider the Variente Espiritual once you reach Pontevedra in Spain- very very nice. Be well!!
Hello to all - I leave for Porto this Friday and hope to mail some stuff from the Porto Airport to Ivar for storage in Santiago. Do any of you know whether there is a post office at the airport and whether it will be open Saturday, May 19?
Thanks

Hello all -
I leave the US for Portugal May 18 for my second Camino and will arrive Porto early afternoon the 19th. I've been planning on walking the costal route, but am having second thoughts. Any comments, suggestions on the costal vs. central vs. Braga route are welcome!
Thanks in...

I walked into En el Camino to get a coffee my last run down the CF and was very impressed - I booked there for my third Camino this August! Very nice place!
Hello All - I will be walking my second Camino flying into Porto on May 19, then taking Metro north to Vila do Conde to save a day or so walking to give me some time to explore Porto en route home June 2. I hope to meet some of you all on the way. I'll be the tall, grey haired kinda fat guy...
Hello -
My understanding is Camino Primitivo is one of the oldest, if not the oldest Caminos running from Oviedo to Santiago. I mentioned it as it runs through Lugo, a truly extraordinary town. There is additional info on the Primitive in this forum.
But to be clear, I have not done the...
