@David thank you for this compliment and your beautiful answer and thoughts. I must confess here, speaking of 'the Good Samaritan' ... I wasn't the first one to pick up this woman on the road... she refused to come with us at first and I thought.. well, let her be... (@Gareth Griffith!) but...
Coming home after a Camino people often ask: ‘what did it bring to you?’ After five walks I finally have a clear answer to that question: I have to be back, and back, and back in Spain. And I have found a way to achieve that. But this story is not about me. What I want to share is one of the...
Thanks @KariC and @MendiWalker for your advice and replys. I will walk with some people that will get their first compostella...so..needed to be sure about this! Well, I'm curious about boats and crosses!
Oeps yes Bradypus, you are right...(it's really years ago I went to get the compostela..) so.. the question is indeed: if you walk 100 k towards Santiago including the Espiritual, where you collect your sellos indeed, will this be counted to get your credential, since it is not an officially...
Hello fellow-members, I am planning to walk the Variante Espiritual again. Last year I didn't go for a credential. It made me wonder if it gives a problem in getting the credential, since the Variante is part of the last 100 k. to Santiago, and as far as I know not recognized as an official Way...
This day in June. Lingering, seeing what I can see. And knowing the hot afternoon sun is waiting. With a burning sun and a straight path all the way to Calzadilla de la Cueza. I am late. I walk alone. My brothers are further up the road. The other pilgrims have gone by.
All I want is sit in the...
There's Camino stories and there's reality. Often seperate worlds. In our fast world with all these loud and colourful media it seems we need Big Stories, like the terrible Pyrenees and the dangerous hot Meseta... Well, I loved it, and I don't mind lots of people skip it. Gives even more...
Lovely. Waking up and book. Go west, young man! You choose an excellent time to walk in the Northern Spanish autumn. You took the most important step, the rest will follow. But, as you posted an open question for advice, I've published my packing list on the Forum last week, it's under Camino...
John, great and unique experience as a pioneer group in such a walk. It's indeed not a Camino, it's different, but with a lot of similarities. And of course special to walk with the same people day by day. Thanks for sharing this.
Hello,
I was carrying my wooden stick (175 cm.) last year by bus, and want to take it with me again this year of course. Does anyone have experience with the European airlines about taking it along. It is to large for handluggage I suppose. Any problems? Do they charge you for it? Simon
Fellow wanderers,
I walked the Camino Frances in September and October last year. If you close your eyes for the little motorized parts, due to an infection I caught, I walked all the way from St. Jean to Finisterre. My impressions and thoughts about the Camino Frances are online since a few...
