Thanks for the info. I’m slowly making my way from Tavira to SdC following @jungleboy’s route. Over 2 trips I’ve made it to Trancoso so far and would love to complete the Torres and Geira sections in my final tranche. Maybe next year if the stars (and Q) align 😂😂😂
All of the details provided by...
Hi @chinalil, I may be following you by a week or two as I continue with my Caminho Nascente from Evoramonte and then the Torres (from Trancoso). I hope you’ll be posting any updates to route and accom as you go. How exciting. Bless
Wow Nick. I’m so excited to have randomly discovered this new thread.
This sounds like a wonderful walk.
As I’m planning to be in Spain next April May with friends, I’m looking for a 2-week stretch.
If your intel proves this camino is doable, it would be a new one for me too. I’m sure you’ll...
Sorry guys, I’ve been out of the loop. One day I ‘will’ stop and stay at Oseira. I have walkerd the Sanabres 3 times I believe and never stayed there. The reports of cold lodgings has always put me off ;).
Enjoy your final few days.
Thoroughly enjoyed your camino. I do agree the final day is not glamorous. All part of the overall experience though.
In Chaves, did you walk all the way across the river on the giant stones? It was an eery experience being right out in the middle of the river - walking ‘on’ water.:)
That is such a pretty region with all the tumble down buildings. Glad I didn’t encounter a snake that big! 😲
Are any of the snakes in Portugal/Spain dangerous to humans? I’ve only seen the very small ones.
You guys have no idea how much this thread is pulling at my heart strings!✨✨✨💓💓 I can’t believe it’s been 7 years since I walked that route. I’ll be following your every steps. Thanks so much for posting, Nick and Wendy.
As usual your descriptions and photos are marvellous. Remember to pop in a...
Second Week
Day 8 took me to Cuba, via a wonderful country walk enjoying cattle fields, olives, melons and grapes almost ready for harvest.
The only village on the way Sao Matías has several bars, not just the 2 you see on the main road.
Arriving in Cuba, it appeared that Hospedaría Lula...
September 2021:
Well against quite a few ‘odds’ I travelled to Portugal and am now attempting to follow @jungleboy (and Wendy) on the Caminho Nascente from Tavira to Trancoso. Their posts from May/June inspired me to follow their footsteps.
Their notes and subsequent Wise Pilgrim App (WP) are...
And although this subject has now been thoroughly discussed and dissected I’m adding my 2 cents worth as @peregrina2000 ponders which small powerbank to purchase.
I’ve recently replaced my older heavier one with a lovely lightweight 5000mah version.
My main reason for purchasing it was the...
Ooh yes, that's a wonderful stop and the room really super - and the bathroom quite luxurious. :)
Ray and Rosa are so welcoming, kind and supportive of pilgrims and they are a wealth of information. The camino angels of 'the Madrid' 🧚♀️🧚♂️
