LIVE from the Camino Finding a doctor ...

I have a history of kidney stones and if I have one growing, walking seems to jiggle it up. Which seems to have happened again. I am in Pamplona, only have 7 days left so jumping forwards to Sarria to finish walk off. Currently using pain killers to manage the situation. If it gets worse, I...

Camino Frances - lite and fast ?!

[CLARIFICATION for later readers, entirely unnecessary in itself but regrettably made necessary by initial hostile off-topic responses : this is a genuine enquiry related to genuine "pilgrimage" journey.] What are the quicker walking (not cycling) Camino Frances that's been done / do people...

    Camino Frances Albergues in winter

There are many resources for albergues and many do include information on when they are open I was introduced to this other one by a French pilgrim who used it extensively It has a differential in claiming to be updated (and I'm sure it is) daily http://www.aprinca.com/alberguesinvierno/...

LIVE from the Camino Aemet.es weather app

Just want to give quick shout out for the iPhone app (presumably there is also an android version but haven't checked) provided free by AEMET, Spain's national weather service. I don't like the AEMET website but the app is simple and to the point with hourly forecasts. And of course location...

    Sleeping bag alternative ?

This may be a mad question. Try not to laugh, at least not when I can see Is there an alternative to sleeping bag which works in terms of comfort and warmth? For outdoor sleeping in tent. Can't explain it but I don't like 'em. Maybe I'm claustrophobic, maybe it's the volume and the packing...

    Waterless washing ?

Does anyone have experience of any waterless washing products ? One option for my next camino is to do it under the stars ( long story why ). One of my two main concerns is staying clean with limited / infrequent access to showers. I've seen on the web Nilacqua, Pits & Bits (what a great name!)...

LIVE from the Camino Made It ! Arrived Santiago de Compostela 4thDec

Wow. Been one wonderful journey. Hard at times, requiring the full extent of my stubborness (I don't think it's resourceful enough to be termed stamina or endurance) But I'm here, with a wide range of emotions from emptiness to elation, and many positive and negative ones in between. Tempted...
