They are fairly active at present and are not deaf at all. I saw them on Thursday just after Ponferrada and again yesterday between the two highest villages on the climb to O'Cebreiro.
I stayed there two weeks ago - agree that dinner and breakfast there is great. It is a lovely village. I left just as the church bell was striking 7 and the sun about to rise. Had that wonderful walk up on to the Meseta all to myself for an hour. Pure joy.
I'm on the Camino now - more particularly in the bar at the albergue in Itero de la Vega. While I started in Pamplona nearly everyone I've spoken to started in St Jean.

Yes, I am due for my tetanus booster so that is on my list. I also have had my flu shot. Coughing and spluttering a bit at the moment though - had my dental checkup and the dentist was sick. :(
