    Bears

Stayed at a chalet at the base of the Somport pass. All around were wooden posts with pictures of the size of bear prints, their claws etc. As I set out alone on a gorgeous, sunny May morning, I thought to myself - well, I guess I will just have to keep my eyes open. As it was mostly meadows...

    Ferrol - Worth a Look?

I have to be honest. I found Ferrol rather depressing. Wished I had started at A Coruna.

LIVE from the Camino @TiedyeAT on the Camino Francés

I have found my angels have yet to not help when needed. We must remember to always thank them.

    Poles

LOVE my Pacer poles. Wouldn't use anything else. A whole different way of walking. I am 73 and have done a few Caminos. My body never feels as good as when I am walking with these poles. With these poles, you are walking upright at all times and the whole mantra is shoulders down and...

Not a Camino, but Portugal here I come

Hi, as I woke up this morning, I had some of the same thoughts. Am beginning the Fisherman's Walk from Porto Covo on May 27th, and realized that I would probably need a bathing suit (never packed that before), and oh, what about a beach towel? And oh - I always just take my Croc ballerina...

Need a new route (March 2023)

Have you thought about the Aragones? Might be a little too early though.

Please help me promote Camino Aragonés

Very pleasant, no rain. The walk over the Somport was glorious and when you entered Spain at the top, path was extremely well marked. Took a little getting used to the French Camino markings from Oloron St. Marie, but all good.

    Trail Condition - before Molinaseca

I remember thinking on my first Camino in 2014 - please God, get me off this mountain in one piece!

    Sleeping with valuables

I have a little cotton bag with a string through it (can be purchased at travel stores). I believe they are meant to be carried around your neck. My passport, credit cards, debit card, and major money are in there in a small zip lock bag. I have it around my waist at all times and even sleep...

Canfranc traffic jam on the Camino Aragon

Just came back a few weeks ago. Was beautiful, but very solitary.

    Alternative POV

Wow - I will say I relate to your message. I am almost finished my mishmash Camino of 30+ days. I say that because it has been a combo of bits and pieces plus the Aragones and Ingles. I believe that I am probably able to put aside the desire to return for a while as I have been fortunate to...

Please help me promote Camino Aragonés

Hi all, all going well, will start from Oloron St. Marie on May 18th - on to Sarrance, Urdos, Somport Pass and on to the Aragones. So excited and hoping for good weather. Anyone else walking at this time?

    Help with blisters!

Perhaps you need to look into orthotics. I know that I could not walk without them.

Crossing the Pyrenees from Oloron St. Marie, Bedous or Canfranc Estacion: Tips for Starting the Camino Aragones

Hi Anna, I will be doing this route also. Plan to start walking from Oloron St. Marie on the 18th of May. I am 71 and have a few Caminos behind me. When are you planning for?

    Big toe callus

Exactly - on my last Camino, it got infected which necessitated a trip to a clinic.

    What to expect...and not

LOVE this. Way to go, Mom - I cannot think of one thing that you have not mentioned. Buen Camino to you both.
