I brought a laptop because I needed it to write my blog but it was a hassle and something I always had to be aware of. Unless you HAVE to have it for work, don't bring it.
I wore more rigid hiking boots and I paid the price. Several days my blisters were so bad I could only walk in Crocs. After several long distance walks and several pairs of shoes I am recommending the Hoka One One Mid Summit which is light, cushy, waterproof and provides some light ankle...
Cheese, roasted peppers, olives, and bread are really cheap. I would not count on having cooking facilities but rather think of grab and go stuff. I made excellent sandwiches often. More tips can be found on my blog. Buen Camino!
I think the cot bunks were the most cost-effective solution for these small and poor communities in Hungary. When you consider that the average monthly salary is $600/month you realize that it is quite an extension of hospitality for them to host us at all.

I am only finished with Day 5 but since Day 2 there has been an option every day to have your bags (or your body) transported to the next town for just a few euros when the cost is split by the group. I am writing notes about this option every day on my blog.
It was suggested in an update that we could take the bus on this day from Bratislava to Cunovo (which I did because of the heat wave) but there were no directions from the bus stop in Cunovo so I have provided them here...
