    Money exchange - current rates

For anyone planning for future travels, I highly recommend getting a Wise card which allows you to transfer money at a very good rate from your bank account (in whatever currency) to euros which are held on the Wise card. The card can be used like a credit card or like an ATM card while you are...

Do you bring your laptop to Camino?

I brought a laptop because I needed it to write my blog but it was a hassle and something I always had to be aware of. Unless you HAVE to have it for work, don't bring it.

    Hiking Shoes, or Hiking Boots?

I wore more rigid hiking boots and I paid the price. Several days my blisters were so bad I could only walk in Crocs. After several long distance walks and several pairs of shoes I am recommending the Hoka One One Mid Summit which is light, cushy, waterproof and provides some light ankle...

Walking The Camino Without Training. Fool's Errand?

If you have plenty of time, then absolutely yes. I did it. Not proud, but proof that it's possible. Buen Camino!

    Cooking your own food

Cheese, roasted peppers, olives, and bread are really cheap. I would not count on having cooking facilities but rather think of grab and go stuff. I made excellent sandwiches often. More tips can be found on my blog. Buen Camino!

FAQs on the "European Peace Walk"

I think the cot bunks were the most cost-effective solution for these small and poor communities in Hungary. When you consider that the average monthly salary is $600/month you realize that it is quite an extension of hospitality for them to host us at all.

European Peace Walk - Inter-stage baggage transfers

I am only finished with Day 5 but since Day 2 there has been an option every day to have your bags (or your body) transported to the next town for just a few euros when the cost is split by the group. I am writing notes about this option every day on my blog.

European Peace Walk 2015 - Day 2 - Bus directions from Bratislava to Adam's Horse Farm

It was suggested in an update that we could take the bus on this day from Bratislava to Cunovo (which I did because of the heat wave) but there were no directions from the bus stop in Cunovo so I have provided them here...
