Pictures that show you totally outside your comfort zone on the Camino!

This is all very jolly but if you have any issues with acrophobia, this is not a good place to be. While I love the "unicorns" and "rainbow" interpretation of the Camino as much as the next guy, the reality is that we can all react to situations differently and as such, a very normal situation...

    The Comfort Zone

Hi Scruffy - while I appreciate the whole "senior" perspective, I do know that we are a lot closer in age though I do agree with the whole beer thing. That being said, you and i met on the Camino Portuguese, just after the bridge coming into Spain. For some reason, I tend to remember those...

    The Comfort Zone

I have to confess that I am still getting the hang of this whole posting thing :) While this is not a bad picture and if taken in context with the title of the thread, if kind of fits. However that was not my intent. It is a common theme with many life style platforms about taking yourself...

Your Best Picture from the Camino Norte - With Bad Hair :)

Hi Lucy - thanks for your kind words. I trust you weren't patting your seeing eye dog when you typed them :). On March 30th, I'm off to Seville to start the VDLP. All the best!

Pictures that show you totally outside your comfort zone on the Camino!

As a couple of the other posters have been kind enough to point out, this was in fact the Dovre mountains. I don't know what I was thinking with the Dumbar mountains (probably describing my own condition) but I never know what I'm thinking :). That said, this picture was taken at the beginning...

What is the most unusual thing you have seen on any Camino?

The ultimate bad hair day on the St.Olav's Way :)

Pictures that show you totally outside your comfort zone on the Camino!

Sorry, no. However I am kind of intrigued by the whole Australian from Norway thing. It conjures up all sorts of "throw another herring on the barbie" imagery.

Pictures that show you totally outside your comfort zone on the Camino!

I could but I would have to bring a couple extra pairs of underwear :)

Pictures that show you totally outside your comfort zone on the Camino!

You are quite correct. Thank you for picking up on this! I guess the cold got to me more than I thought :)

I had exactly the same experience! It was terrifying! Beware that there is no taxi facility in the town before you cross, I know as I tried. Good luck with the psychotic meltdown. You may see traces of my psyche by the side of the road :)

Passing through the Dumbar mountain range in Norway.

Is there any experience significance to changing the Camino route?

Most of us that have done more than one Camino have seen the route of the Camino Frances change in a relatively short period of time. Some of this has been because of modern development through highway expansion, etc, while other changes are through commercial opportunism, i.e. bringing the...

Your one picture that captures how you feel about being on the Camino!

Great news! Thanks for that! I am leaving from Seville on April 1st, which those of you that have read my posts, will seem appropriate :) Something more to look forward to!

Your one picture that captures how you feel about being on the Camino!

I'm sure my memory is going! I have been in Santiago 6 times over the last 7 years and I was positive that the scaffolding obscured some or most of the cathedral. I honestly thought that they should put it on the passport/tourist stamps. UOTE="Tincatinker, post: 697959, member: 14061"]

Funny signs on the Camino and those that lend themselves to humour!

With all due respect, I think this thread would be best served if we stayed on point. This is not meant as a criticism in any way but I have noticed even in the short time that I have decided to do so some posting, that even the most light hearted and humorous threads can be highjacked. Please...

I hope the albergue has private rooms :).

Your one picture that captures how you feel about being on the Camino!

Great beard! If I tried that, I would have 7 hairs a foot long, 3 of which would be growing out of my eyebrows :). That aside, isn't it good how many of the bars on the Camino will serve you your beer in frozen glasses/mugs straight from the freezer!

Your one picture that captures how you feel about being on the Camino!

Wow! Amazing pictures! I have to confess that when I started the "thread" it was to subtly turn our attention to what is one of the most amazing aspects of the Camino that seems to resonate with all of us despite our religious/philosophical perspective. In this regard, I thought that by...
