LIVE from the Camino Walking the Via de la Plata with New Friends

@Karin309 - which hostel did you stay in at Castilblanco de los Arroyos. The municipal albergue website says it is closed until 28 Feb, so I assume maybe Albergue Casa Salvador? Gracias, ¡buen camino!

NEW & Improved Camino Blogging Survival Guide

Thank you for the guide - well put together with plenty of links for those who want to delve further. I did my first camino in 2014 and started off really well on my blog, but soon found I begrudged the time needed to update it - I'd much rather head out and enjoy the town where I was staying...

Camino Portuguese Backwards / Santiago to Lisbon

My plan exactly!!! As I live only 150m away from a beach, these last 6 weeks without the seaside have been hard. Even though the weather is going to be as cool on the coast as it is here in Galicia, if I am going to be cold I'd rather be looking at the ocean while I am walking.

    Question: Cercedilla - Sport Hall?

Having arrived in Zamora I caught the train to Ourense, as I would be missing walking through. Lovely town, I have spent 2 nights - don't miss the luxury of relaxing in the thermal baths, free public one in the middle of the town if you don't mind gawkers, otherwise free and/or private ones...

    Question: Cercedilla - Sport Hall?

When I say slippery, I mean in the dry - it is mostly very loose dust/sand which has been badly rutted by rain and bikes, so very easy to slip on. The weather has been beautiful for walking - cool mornings and mid 20s by midday. I am currently in Segovia - was only intending a one day rest here...

    Question: Cercedilla - Sport Hall?

There are beds available in the ayuntamiento basement. It was closed when I arrived and I was not in the mood for ringing around. tel:912 938 000, mailto:caminodesantiago@tres-cantos.org I spent the night at the VP Jardín Hotel (not cheap but nice) and the receptionist there did offer to call...

    Via Augusta

Alan - yes, it is vey flat! The section between Las Cabezas and Utrera nearly had me packing it in - 32km of mindblowingly boring flat road and track walking - not a house or cafe or village, or even interesting farmland - just the sound of the autopista in the background and the trains going...

    Via Augusta

Is the any chance of having a forum for the Via Augusta set up, rather than trying to fit in to the Via de la Plata forum? Having walked from Cádiz to Seville over the last two weeks, I plan to do an English translation (of sorts) of the Spanish Via Augusta (Cádiz to Sevilla) guide, with my...
