    How to get to Somport

I will be walking from Lourdes to Somport then on to Logrono from next week. A flight from Paris to Pau then train to Lourdes or Oloron Ste. Marie is a good option. A bus leaves Oloron to Somport and Canfranc daily. Good luck with your Camino plans @bkkboy

Train from Charles DeGaulle to St. John Pied de Port

    April 2022 Camino de Invierno

There's that nice climb from Penasillas to Monte Faro which can be difficult when it rains . I remember going up to the Ermita but due to inclement weather, visibility was very limited. On the way down, the wind turbines can be heard but not seen. A fox slowly crossed the trail from afar but...

From which country this pilgrim is from?

This is a fun thread! In 2017, I walked wearing a pair of Zamberlan shoes, Arc'teryx, Columbia, and Kathmandu gear, Tilley Hat, and an Osprey backpack with a Kangaroo patch on it. Five months ago, when I walked the Invierno, there were no clues except for the Aarn backpack (a Kiwi pack available...

Penasillas - Taberna do Peto questions

Hi StFina. I just finished the Camino de Invierno yesterday. I stopped for coffee and tostada at the Cantina O Peto in Penasillas. The lady there was very nice and advised me about the ascent to Monte Faro. Unfortunately I did not ask about lodging at her place. Not sure if they offer rooms...

I I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Tres Cantos for my Camino de Madrid in April 2017. I never felt comfortable being locked in overnight at the Ayuntamiento. The room included buffet breakfast. Good for a late morning start to Manzanares El Real.
