Hoping to do Levante next year. When is the best time to walk? I would think early spring might be quite wet. I am thinking April or maybe halfway through September.
Has anyone walked the Baztan to Pamplona then continued from there onto the Olvidado before doing the Invierno? Looking at planning this route for 2024.
If so, would May be the best time to start?
In planning for next year. Thinking of Camino Madrid then Frances to Leon, Salvador and finish Norte from Oviedo. Any suggestions on best time for the Salvador. I was the thinking of halfway through May or early June.
We are currently in planning mode and will walk from Lucca to Rome. We have no fixed dates so would like to know how busy this part of the route is say, starting from Lucca about 12th September. There will be 3 of us walking and maybe a fourth person. Thanks. Sharon
We are thinking of walking in Italy again this year. Last time we walked from Gubbio to Spoleto using Angela Serrachioli’s guide. This time we would like to follow the VF for 3 weeks. Can anyone suggest a section that would be through hilly, but not mountainous, countryside please?
Better to stay in Gite La Tour or with the Carmelites? Had contacted the Carmelites earlier and the reply was they were only taking previous bookings. So contacted La Tour. Had a reply from them, then another from the Carmelites saying yes it was ok. So, any recommendations for which is good?
We will have 2 nights in Arles. Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a good place to stay in the old city. I have looked at previous posts but wondered if there were people who have been there recently who have a recommendation.
We will be walking the Arles route from early September. Just wondering how busy it is at present. I read on Facebook that it is wise to book ahead. We have booked the first night but that is all.
Have been to Le Puy before but ate in our gites both times. Am looking for recommendations for a good place to eat. Of course can book to eat at our accommodation but thought it might be good to go out before we begin walking.
We are walking the RLS trail in August this year. We had planned to do it in 11to 12 days. However, one day would be from the Abbaye Notre -Dame-Des-Neiges to Les Alpiers. In the Ciccerone guidebook this is listed as a stage, and in MMDD it works out to be 31km. I am wondering if anyone has...
There is a fire burning above Castro Dozon. This is where the track goes so some of the way markers may be burnt out. Also, the track may be closed. There are currently 3 helicopters and numerous firefighters fighting the fire. It has been very visible from the albergue.
A thumbs up to this...
Today we arrived in Riego del Camino and are staying at Casa Camino. The three hospitaleros, Sandra, Sara and Bea, provided us with lunch, tapas, dinner and breakfast in a beautifully restored building. All for donativo.
This place is exceptional and the girls will feed you even if you wish to...
Flights are booked as well as accommodation in Sevilla for April next year. After reading many posts on this forum, I realise there are variants along the way. I am wondering if there are any "must sees" and best routes to take along the VDLP. Also, any favourite places to stay.
Thanks
Sharon
Not sure if these have already been covered on Forum site.
Has anyone who has walked in April on VDLP found the accommodation is full in some towns?
What are the numbers of pilgrims like for leaving during Easter?
I am walking with family/ friends. There will be 4 or 5 of us. We don't want to...
We are planning to start in Sevilla during Holy Week next April. We realise that there will be many people in Sevilla at this time but would like to see some of the festivities.
Has anyone any advice for us regarding this time? Also, any other suggestions would be most welcome. Are there too...
Have just finished walking from Le Puy to SJPDP. Now in Ciboure preparing to start Camino del Norte/Primitivo.
Some questions. Have read that from Irun to San Sebastián it is not well way marked. Is this still a problem?
Also, are these two routes more difficult than Le Puy to Conques?
Are there...
