So sorry about the bedbugs. I had heard of others who got them in O Cebreiro at an Albergue. I got mine at a different one earlier in my Camino and only stayed at Casa ruals and hotels the rest if the way. Nasty little buggers!

Arrived in Santiago yesterday October 28th which happens to be my anniversary. It was an odd feeling that this journey which began in St. Jean more than a month ago was "completed". I'm clearly not ready to leave. Heading by bus to Finesterre today, then back to Santiago for a few more days to...

Been following your progress with others and when you didn't post for a couple of days, hoped for the best. Sorry you didn't go as far as you wanted but , as you now know, the Camino is not about walking, it is about friendships and you've certainly made many. Best wishes to you and your wife.

    Scam?

I came across this fellow a week ago. He's a criminal- short and sweet. Anyone who creates a fraudulent story to prey upon the goodwil of others is a criminal. His story about the ATM eating his card made no sense, he said he was walking back from Finesterre even though his clothes and...

I stopped in Ventosa today. The thought of another Albergue disgusted me. I needed a break. I found one. It's called the Loft & Garden Apt. It's a full sized apt in the first level of a home. It's has EVERYTHING you could want including free use of washer/dryer, a full kitchen, a rain shower...

be aware that there is a "peregrino" who's walking in the Navarette area who claims an ATM ate his card and he needs money. Maybe it's my NY caution but I didn't buy his story. He says that he's walking back from Finnistere yet his clothes and backpack look brand new. He's also wearing a...

Making the stage SJPP to Roncesvalles safer

I had a similar moment in 1999. I was in the middle of the Mohave Desert talking on a cellphone to friend who was standing in the Sahara Desert.
