SYates, my friends are shocked that I want to do the Camino and can't understand why I would go so faaaarrrr out of my comfort zone. I am doing it precisely because it is so far outside my comfort zone :) I am hoping to get over the hurdle of accommodations and let go of some of my fussiness...

    We're all signed up

I am crazy-scared of accommodations that are not up to scratch. I am actually waking up at 2:30 am with panic attacks when I think of the places I will have to sleep and shower in. At home, I don't even share a bathroom with my husband and son... Any words of advice to help me (please, without...

    knee trouble

I had my cartilage removed 17 years ago :( I had severe swelling for many years and then started taking glucosamine (Nature Made Triple Flex; 2 a day). I also use Rehbands. This helps me manage the swelling and be mobile.

Safest way to get money to a peregrino from US; not PayPal

NicoZ, if it were that easy. His bank, Chase, has no branches where I live. Western union looks like a good option.

Oviedo to Santiago: too hilly for a 9-year old?

Just when I thought we had decided on a starting point, a post said that starting in Oviedo is very hilly and doing even 5 km a day is hard. I am going to walk form April 22-May 15, 2015 with my son, who will be nine when we start. We would like to end in Santiago and are thinking of walking...

    14 days available, best route

Thank you for this! I am doing the Camino with my son from April 21 - May 16, 2015. My (nine-in-April) son wants to walk along the coast, but the North Route is too hilly and uncertain. We are going to be in Madrid on April 21. Can we take a train from Madrid Barajas Airport to Leon? In Leon, does everyone recommend that we stay the night and begin the next morning? I will be with my son, who will just have turned 9.
