I walked the Camino in 2015. It was a life-changing experience. Somewhere along the way, journal entries became song lyrics. I put together a band when I got home. The audio is from a live performance and the photos are my favorites from the trip. I'm planning another Camino next summer...
I'll second Brendan, I like Wright Socks http://wrightsock.myshopify.com/ I'm taking three pair of their escape socks on my camino. I really like that they will dry overnight, my smart wool socks wont!
Pano - I have a 2'x3' chamois in my pack. It's worked really well for me on backpacking trips, but it's nothing I could use wrap around myself. I assumed that I would be changing in a shower stall, whats the usual routing for showering / changing clothes on the Camino?
I never thought about...
First I’d like to thank this wonderful community! I’ve asked a hundred questions by searching this forum and found wonderful and heartfelt advice every time. I haven't posted much, but I’ve been here daily for months reading and learning!
I’ll be leaving in 10 days on June 19th, and...
I use a hybrid system. I keep a plastic bottle (16-20 oz) in a side pocket of my pack, it starts the day as sports drink and gets topped off with water when available. My primary source of water is a 1.5l camelback. I like the new design that has a quick release between the hose and the...
The film was my introduction to the Camino. I've seen it more times than I'd like to admit. When needing a little escape, I'll go out on a training hike and put the soundtrack on my ipod. 40 sleeps to go!
I've found on long distances with a light pack the trekking poles really reduce back, shoulder, and knee fatigue at the end of the day. I never really needed them, but I feel 10 times better at the end of the day with them. I invested in a pair of Black Diamond carbon Z’s. They are amazingly...
I’ll be walking SJPDP to SdC starting in late June! My wife will be joining me for the last 100km. I had an amazing experience walking 150km on the Jacobsweg trail from Salzburg two years ago. It was a week that changed my life, I’ve been planning for the CF ever since!
Buen Camino!
