On the various Camino's has anyone had to sleep outside or in a doorway etc. because they couldn't find a bed and have had enough of walking for the day? I'm certainly not planning on doing it but I'm sure it must happen, but don't recall reading about it.
I'm not talking about with tents, but...
Hi, I'm starting the Camino del Baztan next weekend (Bayonne to Pamplona) and was hoping to stay in Amaiur. Some research tells me that the municipal hostel in Amaiur is closed. One says temporarily. Others don't mention this at all. Has anyone got any recent information about it. Maybe a good...
Hi, has anyone any information on the gite de pelerins in Espelette? I know it was closed and maybe it was going to open in the spring. I have emailed the town hall but haven't had a reply yet.
Does anyone know of any other budget accommodation in or close to Espelette?
Thanks.
Hi, all travel booked for Le Puy to walk the Stevenson trail. I can't decide wether to finish in Saint Jean du Gard as Stevenson did, then bus to Alès, or to walk on to Alès the next day. Has anyone walked into Alès and would like to share their experience?
The excellent Albergue Villares De Órbigo, in the small village of Villares De Órbigo (a couple of kilometres past Hospital de Órbigo)
is run by Christine. She is interviewed in the latest episode of 'Project Camino' podcast.
If you have access to podcasts just search Project Camino

The people who publish Miam Miam Dodo have said that a new updated iMiam App will be ready to download around the end of March.
I used the last one a lot, for all kinds of information. I think it's great.
I believe it will be available on Apple and Android.
Hi, I'm planning to walk The Robert Louis Stevenson Trail, GR 70, next September. It's roughly a 2 to 3 week walk through the Cevennes in France. If any members here have walked it, or might be interested in walking it, can I direct you to the facebook group,
Robert Louis Stevenson Trail - GR...
Can any members who have walked the Stevenson route help?
Has anyone walked this route without booking accommodation before starting? I want to walk this route in September, the last 2 weeks. And would like to book accommodation the day before i arrive. Or on the day i walk.
Can i get away with...
I've just seen that the Albergue Villares De Órbigo, in unsurprisingly, Villares De Órbigo, has announced it's prices for 2017. Still cheap.
A very nice Albergue, with balconies overlooking a central courtyard. Clean, comfortable. Good bathrooms.
Run by a nice lady who speaks Spanish, English...
Hi, I'm going to be in Bayonne on Sunday after walking the Le Puy route to SJPdP. I remember people on this forum talking about a place to stay over the road from Bayonne train station. I think it may have been a café but I'm not sure. Can anyone help?
Also, is there a bus that runs from...
I got to Frómista yesterday at 12:20, tried one Albergue, full. The next one I went to didn't open for an hour, but had 20 or so rucksacks lined up outside. So I called the Albergue/Hotel in Población de Campos. (An easy 3.5km away) Got a bed no problem. Albergue €5 was told by some pilgrims it...
Hi. No trains from Bayonne to St Jean PdP tomorrow 28th April.
There is a replacement bus service from just outside the train station. To the left as you exit the train station. The lady at the station told me there are only 2 replacement buses. 1 at 7:45am, and one just after 18:00pm. You can...
Waiting at Gare Montparnasse for the train to Bayonne. Sunny but chilly. I might see some of you over the next 5 or so weeks. I'll be the one with a blue rucksack that looks too heavy.
The 'Outdoor' Guide book by Raimund Joos does not have the section for Fisterre to Muxia. It does have a link to a downloadable pdf, which can also be opened/stored in iBooks. It is the same format as the book. It appears to be very helpful and is free. http://camino-de-santiago.de/muxia-en.pdf
I decided to change my start date because of the May National Holidays in France. I got a direct train from Paris to Bayonne on 27th April. Around 12 noon. £32 one way, 2nd class. I chose £38.50 one way, 1st class.
Hi. I'm planning my Camino at the moment and am wondering if it would be easy enough to walk to Portugal after Santiago de C. Following the Camino Portugueses as far as the border. Would I see the way marks if I'm walking in the opposite direction? Transport links from Tui back to Santiago? Etc...
