    After Camino

Jamie, I did the CF two years ago and your words echo my sentiments perfectly. Time has not diminished my feelings of being on the Camino. Like a drug addict, I am constantly looking to duplicate the feeling of being afoot in the Spanish country-side. Real life tends to grab you and says welcome...

Feeling unprepared & anxious - arrive SJPDP 5 June

I am someone who always got blisters from hiking. On the camino, I made it a habit to stop every hour or two, take off my shoes and socks, and rub my feet. That allowed them to air out and stay dry. I GOT NO BLISTERS THE WHOLE WAY! I also picked up some Ecco hiking sandals which I alternated...

The Top Ten Things I've Learned from this Forum

You are well prepared my friend. What I would add is to make friends and write down their phone number, email, or Facebook names. When you get home, it will be nice to reach out and relive the moments with those that were there with you. I drove my family and friends crazy talking camino (now...

"You talk too much about the Camino"

I could have written the same words. When I tell people that I need to go back again, the usual response is, WHY?!?!? Many just don't understand. I compensate being away by visiting this forum as often as possible. Buen Camino

Wine: Your favorite, and where you drank it

Ahhhh....Calimocho. Must add that to my list of things to try on my next camino ;-)

Wine: Your favorite, and where you drank it

OMG! Paul said he drank NO WINE between Pamplona and Santiago. What a loss! That's like doing the Camino and not sleeping in an albergue. (Nothing personal, my opinion) My favorite was the red one I drank every day with dinner.....and beyond. I attribute the healing properties of those grapes...

You know that you are a pilgrim if/when ...

You know you are a camino pilgrim when you find yourself constantly plotting your return. Trying to find those five weeks off from family and work so you can return to see what you may have missed the first time. Shouting EUREKA when you think you have found that time slot, even if it's 5 years...

    Class of 2015

Wow, I hope to add my name to the class 2015 soon. I will be starting in SJPDP on September 8th and will finish sometime early October. I noticed September is a popular option thus hope to have many friends to walk with. Coming from South Florida, I hope my training has been adequate without...

    Ibuprofen

I believe paracetamol is acetaminophen (Tylenol), not ibuprofen. Acetaminophen is softer on the stomach but be cautious with dose due to effects on liver

First Camino, September - October 2015

Hey Kevin, I too do my first Camino this September. I leave South Florida September 5th arriving in Madrid on the 6th. On to Pamplona the next day and I am still debating whether to start from there or catch a train/taxi to SJPDP to begin. My concern is time. I hope our paths may cross, even if...

Apprehensive now with a tinge of "uh oh"

I have read many posts and threads in this forum. They have all been helpful but this one really hit home at this time. Jitters come from the fear of the unknown. That is why we ask so many questions. As in life, we like to be prepared but 'stuff' happens. Toilets overflow, you crash your car...
