If the bar is busy, sure I'll bring them to the bar regardless if I might look a bit daft. It's the nice, kind thing to do.
Also, have worked in restaurants for many, many years. In our view, it's always appreciated.
Great place! Stayed here in May '23 and will be there again end of May '24.
Jose and his wife are wonderful, gracious hosts! I mistakenly left some clothing behind in Tineo. Jose was instrumental in getting them back to me in Grande de Salime. It was two days after we had stayed with Jose...
Hi M, short answer is no.
Officially the TSA prohibits hiking poles in carry on; https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/sporting-and-camping?page=3
If you're leaving the USA or transiting through a US airport, getting poles through security in your carry on is highly...
Our first Frances was from Sep 9th to October 16th. We brought 40 degree sleeping bags and they were far too warm. A room full of sleeping pilgrims can create a lot of heat.
We've been using the Sea to Summit Reactor Extreme liner. It weights .36 kilogram, so much lighter than a sleeping bag...
It's really not! The system works very well, never tripped or really had them be in the way, and we have thousands of miles using this system.
I'd be curious if any other Osprey wearing perigrinos has tripped or otherwise experienced an issue?
Except when you don't want to be walking with...
As KariannNor mentioned, they may not be for everyone. Good for you to give it a go!
Yea, the poles can be a challenge to carry and access easily when you need them. Many of us carry the Osprey brand of backpacks, not sure if they're available where you are. They have a very nice built-in...
River path. The other path is simply the outskirts of Burgos and is very commercial/industrial area. You walk along concrete sidewalk.
The river path takes you around the airport and then along a path following the river into Burgos. Very nice walk, shade, other walkers from Burgos out...
Once we learned this, the pressure came off. We no longer cared nor worried about a bed at night. So what if you have to taxi back to where you stopped? No one cares, do your own Camino.
I love my Free Fly hoodie! It's made of bamboo, ultra-lightweight, UPF 20+, very breathable, it's my favorite. I don't know exactly what countries in which they sell, but here's their site:

Ultra-lightweight construction doesn’t weigh you down...
We stopped carrying sleeping bags after our first Frances. Since then we've used Sea to Summit Reactor Extreme liner. It weights .36 kilogram, so much lighter than a sleeping bag AND it takes up very little space in the backpack.
In times where it was cold in the night, we'd either use a...
One of the more underrated comments right here!
We always carry a few ziplocks just for this reason (or for any leftover food, break down groceries to smaller bags, etc.)! It's real easy to simply hand them the bag to fill with ice (if there is some available) and make a kind request.
Hello RobertS, this should not be a problem. We've experienced this all across Spain, and sometimes in other european countries. We've never, ever had a problem.
However, if it makes you feel more secure in knowing you have a bed to rest your head at night, take J Willhaus's suggestion to...
For me, it's both: a hiking sandal and flip-flops.
I also am using the Speedgoats, but I really like have another shoe to put on after a day of walking. I don't care for walking around town in flip flops, it's just uncomfortable for me. If that second shoe can also be something to walk a day...
I don't. Mostly they either end up in the cup holder in the car or a container on my desk.
For the most part, I don't even carry any currency, coin or other.
I've used one of these for decades and I agree, it's perfect!
When I lived in France and I'd pull out that coin purse, all my work colleagues would tease me by saying; "all the old men have those!" They might be right, but they're the perfect solution for keeping coins.
