    2nd Camino-portugues

Choose the Inglês instead for a much more pleasant experience! We attempted the Portuguese in May this year from Valença but were halted by terrible weather and illness in Pontevedra. We didn't find that first leg very attractive at all! Perhaps put off due to the weather but loved the Inglês in...

    A wet walk!

Tried the Valença - Santiago leg last week. Very poor weather with torrential rain at times. Had to quit in Pontevedra due to very sick wife. The early stages have too much asphalt to be pleasant. Will go back to P'vedra to complete later. Ingles much nicer Camino.

To save me some searching has anyone returned to Tui by public transport from Santiago and if so how did it go - any tips?

Souvenirs from your Camino, Spiritual, Physical or Material

From the Ingles this May I brought back a damaged knee ( already dodgy before I started!), my Credenciale which I am proud of achieving and a million happy memories. I think of my walk every single day! Bueno Camiño

Last minute questions from a first timer...

As intimated above- rucksacks are banned from the cathedral so leave time to store them some place (pilgrims office i think?)

    swimming togs

Only if you enjoy real cold water I think. Even in the south of Portugal the water rarely warms up to a comfortable level. You will love Portugal though! Nigel

Places we stayed on Camino Ingles

Fully agree with Balian's post re Meson Novo. We stayed there just last week and it is the tops. 18€ per person a night. All you can eat continental breakfast for 5€. My wife adored the freshly made churros! Owner/managers used to work in uk. Just great! Nigel

New watering hole on the Inglé

We are walking the Inglés right now. Just arrived at Bruma in several broken pieces! Good news is a new bar café called Meson - Museu Xente no Camiño has opened and is VERY nice. It is sort of half way 'tween Presedo and Julia's in just the place where a watering hole is needed especially with...

    Getting to Ferrol

Thanks to all replies. I was not looking for actual "comfort" but rather confirmation this is "doable" in the day at a 3,5 to 4km hourly average pace. Will leave Ferrol early morning. Nigel

    Getting to Ferrol

Thanks for all the advice. We are used to walking up to 15 kms regularly so I guess we can handle the 2 long stages on the 5 day recommended programme. Can't wait! Nigel

Hi - we are planning on walking the Ingles in May this year. The trek from Ferrol to Pontedeume looks a bit daunting! Can you give us any comfort?!
